Paul I been to your place a few times. I see that you can call your birds in blowing you whistle. I was wondering how you train your birds to respond to your whistle? Im trying to train my youngs birds to respond to mines but I dont think it's working. If you dont mind can you share me the procedure or anyone that is also doing this how do you guys do it?

If you whistle whenever you feed them, particularly when they are almost starving, they will relate the whistling to eating. ---------- DJJeffman Spinners

I start even earlier then most....When I feed my breeders during the breeding season...I blow the whistle when I feed the breeders...the babies in the nest hear the whistle...and a couple minutes later the birds get fed by the parents.....so they hear the whistle damn near while they are still in the egg...I have been lazy lately with the whistle and my new birds dont act the same...but last year.....I could call my birds down basically at any point during the fly.....
So everytime you touch the feed put do what too short does......Blow the whistle!!!

When they are empty....they come down pretty fast when I blow the whistle....I have flown kits when they should have been fed down and rested one more day...and they came down when I blew the whistle...but it was slow..but they worked there way down.....but again..I dont ever fly full birds.\\

Hey Sid I have had birds respond to my whistle with a full crop. Trapped in when they landed. But I think it can only happen for so long and then they wont anymore. ---------- Good Game Loft
