Sal Ortiz is the club's first champion and we all congratulate him for this achievement. It has been hot for over a week and on the days we flew temperatures approached and sometimes exceeded 100 degrees. The birds showed this by being on the lethargic side, but we were all on the same playing field which made it a good competition.

It was pretty well decided that we will not fly in competitions during the summer. Beginning next year the championship event will be conducted over three flies and not just the one event. The flies will be conducted in the spring, fall. and winter and the champion will be the flier with the most accumulated points over the three flies. In an attempt to promote the World Cup and NBRC Fly those points were once being entertained as being a part of the point total. That idea was dropped because of a by-law statement that membership in the NBRC is not required for membership in the ASRA. But, it is encouraged never the less.

CONGRATULATIONS SAL ORTIZ!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ARKANSAS STATE ROLLER ASSOCIATION

Great job guys and Congrats to Sal! It's good to know that there is a growing Roller following in Arkansas. I may be retiring on some family property outside of Rogers in the near future.
