I got a bird from a friend ,he had it in his kit box,it was flying at his house ,i put it with my kit and the next day i flew it and it flew with mine and returned with the kit.I did this again with a different bird from a different friend and the bird kitted and returned also...is this just luck or do birds that fly in kits can be easy to home in with a new kit? just wondering if any body has had this kind of luck ????

cv rollers......if your sayen that you only had the bird for 1 day and flew it and it returned.... You were dam "LUCKY".... I'd say. Most birds need "time" to get acclimated to their new suroundings. Usually at least a week. Especially,if it flew for someone else before... But good luck anyway.

cv rollers, A very great man in the roller community gave me my first rollers. William Berry, (Bill) from Portsmouth, Ohio. He not only helped me but lots of newbies. He also had the patients of a of Job! Being young, I just could not wait the two weeks he advised me to. So...Everyday, after school, there I would be. Waiting outside of his loft to retrive the birds he had given me.
The younger they are the more likly they are to stay but in truth you probley should have waited a little longer. I think you just got lucky. :)

My birds are from a family of pure Bill Pensoms birds of Bill Patrick strain. In the 70s I had one of his cock birds on lone to me and he had 2 youngsters in the nest. Never flown from my house in Manhattan Beach he got out and flew the three blocks back to Bills.I drove over to his house and there was the #102 cock on his kit pen.I opened the door to trap him and he look in and then flew up and around gaining height then hit a 40 plus roll and started back in my houses direction. I drove home and he was circling over my loft he flew to the roof and dropped to the lawn.I had opened the door to my loft and he just went in.I opened the door to the breeders and he went right to his youngsters. Now that,s smart.JDA
