my birds are fed only mix and they not fat .they slim and powerful my young one's fly twice a day.30 to 45 minutes..there are times I hold up for a week without flying to get them fat so they won't go up high..are you talking young or older birds..maybe you going to have to take them for a ride to make them fly..I always say different strokes for different folks(birds)that is..

i dont think that you want your birds to get strong,
when i had strong fliers they always went sky high when i over feed them,
they would fly for hours.

if you want them to be strong,
feed them more than you usually do.

It always amazes me that some birds wont fly much. These birds want to fly young or old. But something is wrong here? It sounds as if mabe you are feeding too much if you fed them more and they still dont want to fly.
Make sure you fly them early in the morning when it is cool.
Every birds should be trapping in super fast after flying. If any birds or all of them loaf around a bit before going in, they are over fed. (Only if you fly them in the heat of the day will they come down panting and not trap in from exaustion)
Maybe remove the mix and give them wheat and milo for a few days and see if that will help. The mix is good since we will be in the molt soon and all the oily seeds will be useful.

What are the age of these birds and have they always done this low flying and landing? If young put in a few older birds with them.

If old they are spoiled and need a good fagging up to scare the hoots out of them. Throw in a strange object like a balloon before letting them oldies out and they should reach for the sky! Bill C

fontanabound... Just try feeding them a "good" pigeon mix from the start and fly the hell out of them... Have patience.....that's the key..
