what is it when the bird gets skinny and cant seem to digest their food?
the food seems to stay in their crop and gets dry, i have had a lott of birds die from this.

Sounds like sour crop to me. using the water to soften the soured food is good. once you get the old food softened up take the bird and hold it with its head down and gently squeeze the old food out of the crop. once you get the crop as cleaned out as you can take some pure granulated charcole and mix it with water and with a syringe pump that charcole down its throat. if its not to late the bird should rebound. Young kit birds that are hogging up the food can cause them to get sour crop. I alway eyeball each bird in the kit before i fly them. Birds that are hording food are easy to pic out. oh crush up the charcole into a powder. Jim Bowen
