Congrats to Big Sal on winning the region! I believe Mike Henderson took 2nd and Bill Roy took third! Way to go guys!
Big thank you to Jon Farr (sp) for judging our region. You did a great job!

Qualifiers for the finals from Regeon 5
11 Bird - Ron Dyal of Willard, MO
20 Bird - Sal Ortiz of Van Buren, AR
Kenney Henderson of Rudy, AR
Bill Roy of Highlandville, MO
Congratulations to each and I am especially proud of Mr. Henderson. He is in his second year of even having rollers and he finished just a few points behind Sal. We all know Sal Ortiz and Bill Roy, but we will soon know Kenny Henderson.

Nick, I agree 100% I am really happy for Kenny, he has worked hard and now his hard work is starting to show..... Real happy for you Kenny! Congrats also go out to Bill Roy and Ron Dyal! Hope to see you soon Nick!..lol.. Oh, and don't forget Ferrell...
Congrats also go out to all the guys that participated on the fly, and a warm congrats to all of our first time fliers... ( Thank you for stepping up and putting them up, good work!!!).

Ty, if I would of scored 6 more, I would of had an even half dozen points! LOL
A few days before and the day after, they were champs! What is it about flyday though? The birds can sure keep a person humble! LOL

Would like to say thanks to all the flyers in region 5. They each made me feel welcome and appreciated. I saw good birds nearly everywhere we stopped. Several guys had bad weather, wind and rain, spoil their fly.
Nick did a great job organizing and conducting this competition. There were several along the way who gave additional support in way of gas money contributions, meals and housing for us. I had a great time and met some wonderful people. There are several lofts there , however, that I would have liked to visited but they chose not to enter for whatever reasons.
Sal, Kenny, Bill each flew kits worthy of representing their region. I add Ben Winkelman flew a dandy kit too, in the rain. They worked hard for first 10 minutes, wind and weather, they went flat. Also several new competitors. Congrats to all who participated and good luck to those who qualified in the finals. I expect to see good results from this region for a long time in the future, they have the people and the birds ...
