Not to poke fun... but I know of a fancier who gives his rollers Cannabis seeds (weed seeds). He mixes it with wheat, milio & safflower.
Says it makes the birds mellow and fly in a figure 8 pattern over their loft. Don't know if this will actually work for everyone... but it appears to be working for this guy.
Hmm... think I'll give homeboy a call later on to see what's up. Maybe he's barbecuing or something today.

If they are youngsters.....dont worry about how fast they fly...only worry about them kitting and getting plenty of fly time in. My youngsters get mix all the time and they fly fast some days high...some days low...some days they dart around....does not matter they are young birds....I dont start trying to slow them down until they come into the roll and start working as a team...
Why do you care if they fly fast or slow....? Now my Older birds I tweak them to fly slow and that is with 50/50 wheat and milo....but youngbirds I dont care how they fly as long as they are getting fly time and plenty of good grub.....now when they start rolling and you put the like performance birds together...they will slow down on there own....once reason is fatigue from rolling and the other is the natural instict to set up...but wheat and milo helps too....but only when they get older..

I agree with Paul.
Victor you should generally be concerned with their kitting and flying at the moment.
...besides
Flying fast (while young) may be a good thing in that the young roller pigeons are actually testing & training their wings just in case a BOP is after them.

well you said they were flying "too fast" this process slowed my birds down, you can give them a smoke if you want.
