Tony, The fourteen beautiful birds you sent me are doing fine and seem to fit right in with my others. The first group I got from you a while back have already exceeded my birds with velocity ,depth, and regularity. They are setting high bars and have actually increased the quality of flying of my birds. I am anxious for the new group to get a little older so that I can get them in the air as well. Each and every bird that I have gotten from you is dinamic in thier appearance. An interesting observation I have made is how mellow they are in temperment. They just seem to quietly get along without each other and especially my mix of color birds. This now puts me in the thirty's so Im already giving thought to an A and B kit. Thanks again Tony and especially when I have a question or problem. It's sure nice to have you to bounce things off of when I have a problem or question.

Hey Guys, This board is a wonderful resource for any roller question and in particular every Ruby question! I along with many others will gladly help. I don't claim any expertise except enthusiasm for Ruby's! This will be my fifth year and I'm even more excited today then when U.S. Postal called to tell me my birds were waiting for pickup. It was a good thing I know every Policeman on the force! ;) I'm sure Tony would agree it all depends on management. You have the stock to move forward, provided by years of hard work and selection. From this point, Tony can nether claim the credit or accept the fault, that is up to you. I wish for yours to do as good as mine! Thom

Hello everyone I have been a member of this board since the very beginning. I frequent this site a few times a day to get caught up, but I don't post much. This post has really inspired me to say something. I purchased ten Ruby Rollers from Tony in 2004, when he lived in Bellflower Ca. I have been to his house on numerous occasions and seen him fly some kick ass kits. I have been breeding these birds for the past five years and I am very pleased with the results. If you are looking for quality of the roll, speed and velosity you get all that in the Ruby Rollers. I have Rubys that roll from 15' to 45' with excellent velosity and quality. My first competition fly was last year fall fly. I flew a mixed kit of 14 Rubys and 6 Norm Reed birds. I had 19 breaks scored a 189 and was the third qualifier for our region. This year I stocked a lot of Rubys before flying World Cup due to bop and still scored a 88.91 with a young bird kit, flying at 200 pm in 90 degree heat. I also crossed the Rubys with the Norm Reed birds this year and they are doing great thus far. So be your own judge. What works from some may not work for others. I am here to tell you that this family is better than most that I have seen over the years. Regardless of which strain you are flying, you have to have weather and a little bit of luck on your side. Most of all you must have patience to let the birds develop. So put them in the air and let the birds do the talking. Yours in the sport. Mike

I to have a few Rubys and must say they are a nice calm family of birds. Also the are very uniform in appearance and are compact and nice feeling in the hand. The birds I got from Tony will be used a stock birds, then I will fly the c--p out of the babies and go from there.

Polarbear This is the first year that I have crossed the Rubys with the Norm Reed birds. My oldest kit is four months old. I have two birds that are tearing up the skies. 25'-30' fast fast fast. I have about 20 crosses in two different kits. I have to see what the others do before I form a solid opinion.

I too had been to Tony's house when he was in Bellflower....Everyone knows my story about the Ruby Rollers....I have crossed them for the last 4 years...last year everything was crossed....every year I would cross more pairs and every year more crosses would make the stock loft...and then the crosses crosses were making the stock loft....In the last two years I have yet to have a pure Ruby or Pure mort make the stock loft...the crosses are a step above the strains by themselves..but that is just for what MY EYES see....again...different strokes for different folks....my Ruby Rollers are also the older stuff...so I know he has improved his stock over the years too...anyway....I love them...I actually just put a two new cocks and a new Hens ( Pure Ruby)..on some of my stock yesterday......lets see what happens.

Paul, I enjoy reading your posts and comments. I was wondering if you could tell me when do the pure Rubys you have start to come into the roll? Just curious to know. I have not flown mine, but will there youngsters. Also with work I can only fly once in evening and maybe twice on the weekends.

My Pure Rubys came into the roll about 4-6 months....they came in a little harder then my crosses do...they usually start doing flips or tail riding in the three month mark....and then they get better from there...one thing I noted with the Ruby Rollers...you can tell a roll down a mile away...they are goofier the shit...they just have a goofy look about them....
