What can anybody tell me about fireball rollers?
Does anybody have them?
Are they late bloomers?
Do you feed as you would Birmingham?
Do they fly high and roll down 100 plus feet?
Are there different family's?
looking for info
Thanks Lew

Lew,
I'll give you MY experience with fireball rollers. I had a great family of LV French Fireballs from RI. My birds would come into the roll at about 6 months but did not reach top performance until they were 18 to 24 months old. Top performance was 50'+, nice and tight and alot that were 70'+ but sloppy. Alot of folks will tell you that you will breed alot of rolldowns but I did not. If I was flying kits I found I had to feed them all they would eat or they would not fly properly and became unstable. My family kitted like glue and did best when flown in kits of 30+ birds. I also found that they were very strong fliers and would sky out on me ALOT and flys of 2 to 3 hours were not unusual. I would not recommend them for someone looking to fly competition, which is why I gave them up. Good Luck!

Thank you for your reply's, have you crossed them with Birmingham's and if so what did you get?
I have a couple birds and was wondering if I should pursue further. I do like the birds up high, but mine only roll about 25 feet, do they get better with age.

Lew,
Many folks have crossed the Fireballs into the BR's for various reasons and I can't say that it has helped or hurt them. The birds should get deeper with age but you need to watch the quality of the roll because many will start wing switching and getting sloppy as they get deeper. You may also notice that as they get deeper they may become less frequent.
