During the molt I know my breeders should be fine because I feed them purina checkers but what about the kit birds that get a grain mix do I give them greens (romaine, kail, dandlelions, ect.)or vitamins and witch ones in the water. Thanks Rookie from ct

Dennis, I'm a great believer in pelleted feed. I feed my breeders nothing else. My kit birds feed varies so I give them Vitamins&Electrolites that I purchased from Tony. I also give all my birds Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) found in the health food section of most grocery stores, on a rotating basis. If you are feeding only a grain mix to you kit birds, then also give them oyster shell or red grit. Fresh greens are good for your birds. Thom

Joe, I just ordered the green today. I have been feeding the checkers, but I like the stats on the green better. Have you had any issue with the birds being loose? I've had good luck with the checkers, and hope for the same with the green. Thanks, Thom

Thom ... Breeders yes kit birds no. The breeders I had to take the oyster shell completely away and it stopped. Now there droppings are good and kit birds have been good all along. You will love them, and in the winter you put them on the gold. JDA

Joe Thanks, Scott, I have been feeding my breeders nothing but checkers for four breeding seasons with good results. The droppings are always firm with a little white drop on the top. :) The exception is when a hen has been on the nest all night and takes her relief in the morning. It doesn't get any worse then that!lol I finally talked my feed provider into ordering the green for me, but he also said he could get the gold. Thanks Guys! Thom
