i bought an already made wood trap with aluminum bobs in a frame. it has a small plastic clip that keeps the bobs in place which i relocated so it would hold the bobs in the up position for training. are these additional pieces, plus the rod for the bobs available online? or how do you guys keep the bobs in the up position? mine has a rod that swings up to hold the bobs, but when i come home, the birds landing and going in and out must shake the door and the trap drops. i need a second set of bobs for the right side of my new kit box, and i don't feel like spending $25 at the feed store for what i can make for $3 in material.

Steve just build your own. You can see the way I built mine. I haven't had a bird escape yet and it works great!. Instead of holding the bobs up I can take the plastic tubes thats seperate them off and push the bobs to the sides creating space thats bobless for birds that im training or are having a hard time trapping. Once they get the idea ill put the bobs back in place and they trap no problem

Over the bobs iv added a clear plexiglass on hinges for both traps. That keeps anything from outside coming in and prevents the birds from getting out. Also keeps rainwater out and from coming in.

You gotta stop by man and just check it all out lol

Steve you can order the T bobs pretty cheap they are alu. rods with a plastic T top and I would cut the plastic about a half inch on each side to get the bobs closer together so no birds get out from the inside Rookie from ct

Game...If you had a board under the traps that you would hook closed at the top of the traps keeping every thing out and would be used as a landing board when open.JDA

i like thegame's sliding 'drapes' idea. however, i prefer the swing up bar, so i'll just fabricate it or order the parts online. thanx for the ideas, guys.

Good luck Steve! I think for my kitbox I am going to use the pvc elbow joints.
