After a sucessful breeding season you fly your birds and you have a couple of rolldowns.if you were not using any for fostering.would you consider giving them away? to rookies? would this just lead the rookie in a bad direction?and would you put a price on them?..just a question..rollermens please dont get rivral up about this lol..:)

I never give birds possessing a major defect (roll downs) to any one. I either eat them or give them to the garbage man. ---------- Just My Take On Things

I from now on due to bad exsperience with passing birds on will cull any roll downs. But I have a major problem. Deciding if there roll downs or just to deep for the surrounding area. If they bunp then I will give them several chances to try and prove them selfs not roll downs and see if they can get over the problem but if it carrys on then they have to go. My naibour got a few problem birds from me last year and all they have done is cause me more trouble then I can take. He forever lets them out the same time my kits are out and with them not been traind they drop early causing my birds to drop. He lives in the next street. The yearlings I fly dont take any notice of them its just when my young are out and his birds join in with my kit they take some down with them. I have told him several times to let me fly my kit then let his birds out but he doesnt listen(BIT OF A DAFT LAD). Its not me been the boss and telling him when he can fly and when he carnt but once his birds are out thats it untill night fall. He doesnt have no controle over them at all. And I only have myself to blame. Sorry I have gone on for a while but I need to get this off my chest.LOL. So my advice would be first make sure 100% they are roll downs. And second dont give them to anyone close to you. Thanx for listening . yours harrison uk hull.
This his the area in wich I have to fly my birds.
view from my landing window.
this is the right of my house
this is the left of my house
and this the front of the house.
This is the way the houses are laid out for atleast 10 streets each direction. So as you can see its hard for me to fly rollers there for also getting mixd up with roll downs or birds just to deep for the surroundings. thanxs harrison

Why wouldnt you give them some good birds to fly out of your pairs? Think of it this way. What would you want a guy to give you if you were new? A roll down or a bird off his best pair? A roll down is the worst kind of roller you could give away.

Such do leave leave the property in the way that people that raise fancy pigeons and are always looking for fosters, like the ones who raise short beaks, so I give them to them for free!

To someone, however, who is looking to be a flyer and be a roller man, never ever give roll downs.

giving culls to rookies is the worst thing that can happen to anybody, unless u specifically tell them that those are trash birds..
