Just to make it short, I lost this one young red spangle 09 an hour ago...She was my Ideal roller--(What to look for GOAL)...She was taken by the hawk, a few days ago I wanted to pull her out, but I stop myself...The hawk Beat me to it...I had the feeling of pulling her and talk to talk but didn't walk...This is one of the biggest regret I'll have for a while until one of the sibling can recover my loss...

If you ever have a feeling of pulling or stocking a young birds that is an ideal roller to you, would you pull it or risk it to hawks...

Looks like the BOP know their S**t, they wants the best one from your kits...Just like we can tell taste satisfaction by looking at it...

When the BOP come they always go after the best birds for some reason and the one's that can put up a huge chase. You would think they would take the ones sitting around not willing to put up much of a chase or the weak ones. Weird how it is. The first BOP attack I had, the coopers was unsuccessful and I pulled the birds the same day..

i am not to religious now adays, but i look at the bop as the devil, when you see your kit doing what it suppose to do, being in comp or in your back yard, here comes the devil and brings you back to reality, and when you have a good fly your glad, but just remember that sombody else had a better kit that day than you...lol

I think we all have a story where we talked up a bird and stated we were going to stock it after this or that competition fly or after we fly it for a friend coming to town and of course it comes up missing or is taken by the BOP's. Whenever you let a top quality spinner, or any bird, out to fly it no longer belongs to you until it traps back in. Part of the game and all we can do is move forward and learn the lesson the hard way. What is done is done. It will happen again to all of us! Enjoy your next fly and start working on making another one as good or better! Don M.

Jess, I have had the same thing happen to me more than once. this spring I had a little hen out of a very stable family, she was every thing you could ask for in a young bird. I thought I saw the bop take her and I was sick because I had said the same as you, and was going to put her up and breed her next year. To my surprise the bop had taken another bird. I took her right then and put her in with her grandfather, I have two of her babies flying and two in the nest. It is NOT something that I do all the time, but some times ya gotta take a chanch. I can always correct a mistake but I cant replace a loss to the bop. If none of these babies work out what have I lost, just some feed and two bands. Don M brought out a very good point, We dont own them when we fly them, but we do take care of them and sometimes that means putting a special one up.

Hey Ralph. Got some of the baby bells up just this morning! Great flyers! I won't know about the roll for a while though. My other birds are being loft flown & are really tearing up the morning skies! Thanks for asking!

Wow...this afternoon after a long day from works...Went to the backyard to feed my birds...I saw my little white grizzle, she's escape the Hawk...I don't know how it happened, but I saw the hawk grab her and disappear yesterday evening...I'm guessing she must of fake her death and find the chance to fly away...Hmmh...Should I continue flying her or pulled her...
