I have a hen that has laid 3 eggs. I know all three are hers as I only have 2 pair in my breeder loft right now, and the other pair has been on eggs for about 2 weeks. This hen has dropped an egg each day for the last 3 days. Should I pull one of the eggs or let her sit and hatch all 3? I didn't even know that was possible.

Unless you know for a fact, I'm betting you have two hens and will have four eggs. :)

Give it a few days and then candle the eggs.

Yep you just need to get two cocks of the same family of birds and then you will have three pair to work with and lots of fun in the roller game.JDA

When people used to tell me about 3 eggs I would tell them you have 2 hens, if in and individual pen, or hens sharing a nest in open loft. But I now know that on rare occasion a hen will lay 3 eggs. I have 2 Willie Wright hens( funny how haven't had this happen before and now twice from hens from the same family) that have laid 3 eggs. After I pulled their eggs to foster both these hens laid 3 eggs, but like Tony indicated, it took about 5 days for this to happen. These all ended up fertile and were in individual pens. I ended up with 5 babies about 2 weeks apart in age out of the one pair as I fostered 1st round, then fostered the 2 most developed(candled) eggs of the 3 laid the second round, and let them raise the one egg left over. Wouldn't be great if we could get this type of production out of our best pairs on a consistent basis!

It is due to the poor economy and the hard times, you are getting three for the price of two (lol) :)
