While watching a kit of rollers flying; one bird began to loose altitude flying in slow circles while doing so. When it finally got significantly lower it skimmed near the surface of the grass; laid an egg and returned expeditiously to the kit. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Ok, Nick. I will share one that happened to me back in the day. Ready? Here it goes... I had a flock as we called them in the hood back in those days..lol... We flew everything, squabs and breeders.... I would fly my birds as soon as I got home from school and after they landed I would let them hang out.. I loved it, but the neighbors hated it..lol.. I had one white hen ( my color bird at the time)... She did come down early one day and do something similiar as she laid a egg on top of my loft/ kit box.. lol.. Well there you have it. Hope you enjoyed it..lol ---------- Sal Ortiz

While cleaning a kitbox all of a sudden it was heard a very loud bang and upon looking around on top of the box it was noted that a roller was walking around looking like a small tailed fantail. The bird had rolled and hit the top of the kitbox breaking its tail and it was sticking up and forward. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Flew a kit, was in a hurry, thought they were all back in so I closed the kit box. Later in the evening, I noticed a commotion in the pigeon house (which is also the chicken house, and no, I haven't had any problems keeping them together) . . . seems that my new Bantam rooster (tiny little guy with a tiny little crow) has BIG ambition, matched with high stamina -- he chased the pigeon for awhile, then latched onto a Rhode Island Red hen that was 4 times his size, with his beak, and she swung him around, causing him to hit the pigeon, which landed on the floor, dazed for a moment and barely escaped the romantic moves of the Bantam rooster! Wish I had caught that on video!

As a wee lad I delivered the local news paper for spending money, mostly pigeon feed. I had tamed one bird to the point it would ride around on my shoulder and fly around but return to my shoulder. One nice lady thought I was being flogged by the bird and almost killed it with a broom before I could explain.
