Welcome weissman! Hang around, every once in awhile we have a pigeon thread come up! LOL
Seriously, get familiar with the pages and all the tabs to click on. On the main page there are 200 pages of archives to read through. Theres also a search button if you have a certain subject you want to see something inpaticular. Good luck! ---------- Val

Welcome Weissman. Good site to get advice, but always remember nothing is gospel- you have to try things and figure out what works best for your birds. Also, the only bad question is the one unasked. You have to exceptional roller guys right in your own backyard in Perris. Randy Gibson and Mike Mitchell live right there. Hope you get a chance to meet them! Enjoy your birds! Don M. Welcome aboard weissman379. I assume they call you Irving in the real world.
....well anyway
I don't know what particular family of birds you are working with... however... I wish you the best of luck with them!
My ideal family of American-Birmingham Rollers:
1) Depth - 15ft-50ft
2) Style - Smooth rollers to very fast spinners
3) Frequency - 1 to 2 times per minute
4) Tight kitting is a must along with stamina
5) Stability - Must be able to last for years, not roll down, bump, or lose work rate with age.
6) Developement - Start spinning short (10ft-15ft) at 3 to 5 months and really bring it on during the 2nd season up to 50ft-80ft maximum.
7) Kit sensitivity - When the team breaks they all should go. The kit should even break on off days but to a minimum (waterfalls). 8) Performance Flight - Fly low and slow with a figure 8 pattern. It's very important to be able to see the birds perform in the air.
9) Good homing instinct - Once settled, the birds should be willing and able to get home if possible (weather permiting).
Take care....

Weissman, they both live up on the mountain by Lake Matthews. Email me at macsrollers@yahoo.com with your contact info. phone and email and I'll get that to them. They are both great guys but I don't give out phone #'s without another's consent.
