For the board, I received a phone call from Ralph, (toughrollers) despite my lack of hearing we had a great conversation. Filled with a lot of what, sorry, I can't hear you, and what?! :) I worked on jet engines during my service years and fire engines for another thirty, so talking to me is an experience in frustration. I already knew his character by the tone of his posts but it's great reinforcement having heard it in his voice. Ralph, you will recover from the terrible loss of your birds. It's toughrollers starting over but you have the grit! I look forward to your visit more then you can imagine. Take care my friend! Thom

Tony, I want to thank you for this wonderful site. It has given me the opportunity to make friends from all over the world. Friends I would have never met under normal circumstances, good honest people. This site has broadened my horizons and allowed me to look into their lives. To share in the simple joy of a good fly day, or the sorry of losing a kit. Yes, I worry for some who place their lives in jeopardy, but I find joy in the pictures of the young. Their obvious pride in their birds and in their accomplishments. Their willingness to help is enfectious and gives me hope for our society especially in this dark time. There is more then just a place to talk about pigeons here, and I thank you. Thom

Thom, I'm already aching and im only 50. Just imagine what I will be going through at your age. LOL. PR rollers, you and I have a lot of catching up to do to get to thom. If it makes you feel better, I have a sore back, elbows, knees, shoulder, hands, and can't see for crap no wonder I have lost my birds. I should be "culled" ASAP. LMAO.

Your totally right it ain't the same at 50 than when we were 20. The problem is I don't want to believe that I am 50 I still think that I am in my 20's.
The fact is I can't grow old gracefully I refuse to believe that I'm almost over the hill but it's good to know that I am close to retirement age. ----------

Thom is one of the nicest guys i've met here. he and others welcomed me warmly when i arrived recently, and he's always chiming in with good, sound advice and ideas. you never catch a tone in his voice either. wish he was closer to me, would be nice to sit and watch the birds and kick back together. ---------- Steve in Blue Point, NY

Ralph, and Ralph, :) The bad news is it only gets worse. I think it compounds expeditiously! LOL Ralph, toughrollers, Gracefully my petunias, they are going to have to drag me kicking and screaming into the night! :) Squabby*32, if I had known I would live this long I would have taken much better care of myself. That said, you are exactly right, it's all in maintaining where you are and refusing to give up! Rudy, drink a cold one and think of me, I'm not allowed by Doc's orders. :( A big steak would be nice also! :) Steve, come on down, we will fly the birds and blow my "NEW" air horns at the sky sharks! In the words of John Travolta, "Ain't it Grand!" Thanks Guys Thom

Hi Thom
Don't believe toughrollers (Ralph), that he has got pains because if he can spin in the air like his birds, he truely is a "tough" guy.
We have seen him spin in the air, land then jump up 7ft high and break a board. If he has got pains how does he do all this. LOL.
Thom you sound like a great man from what Ralph has told me, he can't wait to catch up with you.

Take care and if I may be so bold, mate. Thom

Thom....I always look forward to reading "anything" that you post. And you've been in my friends list for quite some time. Iam almost 62 and I don't consider you an "OldFart" by any means, only in name...lol. Your only as young as you feel. And I have felt for many many years like I am in my 30's.....lol. Just remember, like Toby Keith once said " MY mind says Oh Yes You Can.....but the body says Oh No You Can't"....LOL, that the draw back... You'll always be a firnd of mine Thom..

Thom...that sounds like a plan...do you know Brian Middaugh?? He's from down your way. I met him 2yrs ago at a fly in Akron,Ohio. As a matter of fact Brian told me about the Southern Ohio Poultry Association Swap meet that year that my wife and I went.

Paul, Yes I have met Brian, he stopped by toward the end of winter and everything I had was breeding or fostering. Heck of a nice guy. I invited him back when I got the birds back in the air. Now, I'm covered up by a pair of cooper's and in lock down. To extend the invitation, you and your wife are welcome anytime, just let me know in advance and I will give you directions. I can't grantee flying birds, but we can talk birds and have a good feed! :) Thom
