my current kit is flying two weeks, and they're starting to kit well, but there always seems like one or two birds will turn early or the opposite direction, and also fly either above or below the majority. at what point do we start thinking about pulling the non kitter?

Hey Steve, If you have room for a second kit. I would seperate the non kitters form the good kitters and fly two kits, or you can fly them seperate from the same box.

Steve give that one bird that is separating from the kit less feed...That should do the works...My suggestion is to cull after 1 1/2 month of flying...Just allow time for them to make correction...

it doesn't seem like its the same birds each time. i just can't be totally positive. so, any bird flying higher would probably be ok? the lower bird/birds should be flown separately? what about when they are flying well together (kitting) but someone seems to cut the turn early, and disrupt some of the other kitters, pulling some birds with it? again, i've really started to embrace the patience thing that many have preached over the last week. a week ago i'm posting about flying time being low, and yesterday and today they flew over 30 minutes, and it was actually me who whistled them in.

Steve, At two weeks, I would simply give them a little more time. As long as they are not landing anywhere you don't want or leading others away from the kit let them settle in.

ok, Thom, i'll be more patient again. i hope you guys aren't getting tired of telling me that! i do have a second kit, but they're almost a month younger, and i was thinking of putting any possible culls in with the new group to help 'stick' them when i first release them next week.

Steve... If they are same color you should not fly one and watch to see how the one you are flying does. Then the next day hold back the other. That should show you who is the problem bird. Then you can hold it back for a while and the other bird should be back in the kit.JDA
