Vhawk, you should go to the Thunderbirds lawn show on the 22nd if you are in California or Nevada. He will be there and have some birds no doubt.
His birds are very sought after as good rollers and many have started their own families after his birds.
I have not see them in the air but did fly out five for a friend who could not fly them in his area. He had birds down from this line and so they were not the real deal as Emberton birds but they were small and nice body types and most guys would be happy to fly the real deal. You have to get birds from the guy whos name is behind them or you may not get a good comparison. Many guys breed from bumpers or problem birds and call them by the other guys name.
I say they are good! From his reputation and flying history. BIll C

Vhawk: The best way to know is to go to his house and see his birds fly. Like Bill said there are many that have birds from him but every one breeds there own way. My birds go back to the same birds he has or from the orignal person which is Juan Navarro but we breed different.
You should go to there show the end of this month and he will be flying in the morning a kit.

Joe Emberton is always welcoming people to come and see his birds. Just give him a call and set a date to go see his birds yourself. ---------- Good Game Loft

Hi Vhawk,
I have seen Joe's birds fly perhaps 5 times. I have judged his kits and also flown out 5 squeekers from him. They are outstanding, as long as you like dark checks! In fact, I have one cock that I flew out in the breeding loft now as an experiment cross on an Easley hen.
Best Regards,
Ken

Well my birds are from Joe. I dont think im disappointed in them. They are actually some of my best stuff in my yard. His birds come to the roll from 3-6months, real frequent birds and nice small body. All his birds he breeds out of are from proven pair and out of his good stuff..mainly it goes back to his foundation pair...all the ones i got are grandkids to his foundation pair. He sells them 25ea if he end up with extra and wat he flies are the same stuff he sells so you cant go wrong there. He won the 20 bird and 11 bird fly and is also a master flyer. All in all i say im pretty impressed with his birds. ---------- Kham Thao Member of the NCRC

vhawk no strain are perfect and of course we all know this. I can think of 2 not so good about these emberton birds right now. These birds have many positive traits in them, they can compete with any other strain out there. ---------- Good Game Loft

TOO ALL,
JOE EMBERTON BIRDS ARE SOME OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN AROUND. THEY DO ROLL...AND THERE ALSO BUILD FOR GOOD FAST SPEED!... THEY COME IN @ BOUT 4-6 MONTHS OLD. THEY'RE ALSO VERY SMALL IN BODY TYPE AND THEY DO HAVE THE FAST SPEED WING. I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH SOME OF JOE'S BIRDS FOR MANY YEARS...AND LET ME TELL YOU GUYS THEY'RE SOME OF THE BEST. 4 OTHER GUYS IN OUR CLUB FLYS EMBERTON STUFF TOO AND THEY QUALIFIED ALL THE TIME. 2 GUYS PLACE 4TH AND 5TH ONE YEAR IN THE WORLD CUP!...THEY ALSO CROSS PRETTY GOOD WITH OTHER BIRDS TOO. BUT ANY HOW IF ANY ONE CLOSE BY AND EVER WANT TO SEE SOME BAD ASS BIRDS ROLLING, THEN FEEL FREE TO CONTECT JOE EMBERTON OR ANY ONE IN THE "THUNDERBIRDS CLUB" AND WE'LL BE HAPPY TO SHOW YOU AROUND...THANK YOU

vhawk, The best thing to do is to ask joe emberton himself what are the goods and not so goods about his family. If you live close by give Joe a call. The club got a fly tomorrow. I'm sure Joe will be more than happy to fly his birds for you to see. Also, a little info about you would help. Like who you are, where u are from and what you are looking for. Sometimes you will get more info that way. Some people don't like giving away info to someone they don't know. That info might get turned aroud if you catch my drift.

I would say sometimes the birds are too frequent or hot. I bred out some youngs last year from this one pair and the youngs couldnt keep up with the kit and not only that but they flew so low. That is because they are constantly spinning. Hawks love them as they are easy to catch due to the fact that they fly low and should I say not weak but just real tired from all that roll. ---------- Kham Thao Member of the NCRC

Kham89, that will usually always happen when flying mixed family's. Usually the stiffer one's will get all the feed, as the harder workers if you do not watch them every day will go light on you. Just FYI and nothing more bro. Good luck with your birds... ---------- Sal Ortiz

Joe switched over to rollers after years of dominating his area in racing homers. He has applied what he learned in his years of racing homers and has applied it to his rollers. So Joe has developed a tight family of quality rollers. He has also helped the development of many local roller enthusiasts. The success of these other roller breeders shows how valuable Joe's help has been as well as the quality of his birds. Paul G
