one of my 2nd kit of youngsters has died of canker, which was clearly visible in its throat. all my other birds are fine, and the kitboxes are dry and well ventilated. this bird was a weakling when i got it, which i'm sure made it more susceptible to secondary infection. what is the best course of action for the rest of my birds, which are all 09 youngsters?

Obviously you can buy medicine for them. It is also better to prevent it in the first place. One way is to give them garlic water (4 cloves mash or poked with holes per gallon of water) once or twice a week. People that use it seems to have less incidence of canker. Another way to prevent it is to expose the drinker to the sun. Basically you aerate it and dry it using the sun's heat. I just clean my drinker, spray disinfectant, rinse and leave it outside in the sun to dry. It will kill those protozoa.

The only time you need to medicate your birds is before the breeding season. This medication is for prevention of any issue while breeding. Practice this habit and you will never have any issues.

got one baby that has caught cancer the first time i have ever had it.
treated all my birds and they are fine.
But this one baby just wont let it pass.
he has had tablets on three diffrent accations and still it shows.
Its not in the throat but just on the inside on the beak along the right hand side.
I take it away and its back the next day.
I would cull him but he is out of my friends best stock hen so want to try and heal him.
he isnt with anyother birds as the risk is to high.
will it go?
it says on the tablet box if it doesnt go after two tabletsseek vetanery advice.
any ideas?
Remadies?
secret ways?
thank yoiu harrison
