Hey All, Having flown small test kits of three to six birds and not seeing any B.O.P. I decided to fly the whole kit yesterday. The news is they were rusty in kitting after being in lock down for over thirty days, went higher then I like but for a time, they ripped it. I had several great breaks but the individual birds were great. One or two were hitting thirty five to fifty footers consistently and with style. After the ten minute mark they settled down and flew slower and more consistent. The bad news is, I lost one of the deeper, better birds. I had hoped it would stragle in but today, I have the female Cooper's Hawk all over my kit box again so he is most likely gone. I was happy to see, even in that one fly, my young cocks are getting better and I think my program is headed in the direction I want it to go.

Thom, sorry to hear you lost a bird. It's good to hear your other birds are doing well. Sounds like they would be quite a site to see.

Hey Joe, I feel your pain. I'm not happy that I'm not alone but I am glad you understand. Sounds like you have an adult teaching her juvenile how to hunt. I've had the adult hit and then drop a bird so that the juvenile can make the kill. I'm running out of young cocks, and I'm going to have to shut down completely before long. I've seen enough and know them well, so I can protect what I have left with confidence but it's not being able to see the fruit of my plans that hurts the most.

I wish B.O.P. free skies for your birds.

Thanks Ron, I'm going to shut down with the cocks. I'm going to need a couple for a friend. :)
I'll just fly the hens in small groups to minimize my losses.
