Johnnie, You, young Sir are a man among men! Just the fact that you placed your daughter above chritizism tells me a lot about your character. I'm positive karma is balanced toward your side. Even then, you earned my respect! :)
A lot of men would not have been that much of a dad.

Them cats are vermin. The thing that gets me is yes they may hunt by instinx but they dont even eat the birds. They just kill one, play about with it ,pull the wings and head off ad go for the next one. People need to keep there cats under controle. If a dog got into the garden and did it then you would have grounds to report the owners for it. But cats get away with it. But one thing I have learnd from the guys on here is that any attack like that is down to poor management and its true. When I got attackd last year by the cat the guys will remember I got my back up bcause everyone was saying it was my fault and I had managed my birds badly. Now a year or more later I have had no more cat attacks bcause I dont give them chance. Never leave my birds unatended as I no what the outcome would be. Also try to lose the traps you are using and fly them in and out of the door. This been its hard to forget to shut the door behind the birds. Sorry on your daughters behalf(BLESS). PLEASE take somthing positive away from what I have said as I no damm well what the cats can be like. GOOD MANAGEMENT = NO BIRDS LOST TO CATS.100%true. Thanks guys for drilling this into my head. Years ago I had a cat bothering my birds so I asked the owner whom happened to be my neighbor to please keep the cat off my property and away from my birds. The guy told me he was sorry and it would not happen again. The very next day I came home and found the cat on top of my kit boxes again. I called the sheriff to ask them what I could do about this cat and they told me that a cat was considered a wild animal due to them not being able to be trained. I then asked if it was ok to exterminate the cat and they told me that they were not going to tell me to do that but that it was not against the law to kill the cat if it was killing my birds. true about bad management, i left the trap open last year and forgot about it.lucky for me i had the screen door open and heard the bobs rattle.i ran out immidiately and saw the cat in the loft, scared out its wits when i turned on the light.i tryed to catch it but decided to let it go,since it was my fault

In feb time i splitt my breeders up as it was just to cold and the young were dying So with me having kits away from the main loft I decided whilst it was empty to give it a wash down with disinfectent. I left the door open to let the loft air out and a cat had gone in the loft and the door shut behind it. I just lockd it in overnight whilst I decided what to do. This cat has had my birds in the past so it was an enemy of mine. I decided bcause the owner didnt feed it much and it lives in a old shed in a naibours garden that it wasnt the cats fault. \\\\\\\\so I just opend the door and let it out. I havent EVER left my birds unatended since the last attack ahd I havent lost one bird to it. So it does prove that its down to me. And the first time I leave them unatended the cat will strike no dougth about that. Harridon H,K,R Roller loft hull Uk

KGB, that is not nice. I am not a cat lover and don't keep them but cats have their place. They keep the mice population down in the neigborhood. It is the pegion keeper fault for not securing the loft so the cat stay out. It is a handler issue rather than the cat. The same is true for skunks, possom, coon and what have you...Don't you think!

johnnie I assume you are using regular BOB traps. I quit useing them years ago. Make you some small drop traps. Some of the guys use likea 4 inch 45 angel PCV pipe, Cats won't go through those. Mine are made out of plywood the birds just slip right through. I still have a door that i close on all my traps though. Jim Bowen

I had BIG ISSUES with a local cat calld JD.Things were getting realy personal between us but once I had realized the cat owner wasnt feeding him and that I shouldnt be leaveing my birds unatended things have been good. The guys on here made me realize it was my fault and not the cats. Its still a game btween me and JD but he keeps me on my toes. Also I believe that if it wasnt for me worrying about the cat I wouldnt watch my birds all the time. So thats also a good thing thats come out of this. So you could say I have turnd a negative thing into a positive thing Harrison H.K.R ROLLER LOFT HULL UK
