Hey All, This is from a post on another list and is not my idea but it works and is worth passing along.
The Amish hang these in their outdoor booths to deter flies. I have tried one myself and it seems to work.
Take a one gal plastic storage or freezer bag and fill it half full with water, now drop in six pennies as shiny as possible and remove the air as you seal the bag. Tie a heavy string or cord around the top of the bag and hang anywhere you want free of flying maggots, flies. The pennies refract through the water and to a flies eye looks like a predator and they take a powder.
I know, but it's cheap and really seems to work!

Those pest are pretty smart. I simly wrap a piece of wire around a can of Black Flag Flying insect spray and hang it from the ceiling also. They all can manage to read the label except those imported German Cock Roaches.

--lol @Joelbanc----Thom will it still work if I throw in 4 pennies instead of six ,things are bad....:)
what I do is I just tie one of my old sneakers around the doorway keeps every flying insect away including my mother Inlaw...it works haven't seen her in years.----

what i do is ask the neighbor kid to come over and play army,i commoflage his face with pigeon poo and send him off to hide,the flies magically disapear

Now if I just had a kid, a can, an old smelly sneaker not only would I not have any flies but no mother-in-law! :)

Just hang signs around the property that say "No BOP allowd in my air space".
Nothing will work. hunger is a bitch.
