Hey tou, I don't know where you can find any saw dust but be very careful if you do. Saw dust from uncured wood produces ammonia and can harm your birds. It also produces heat if it is stored in any amount (even very small amounts) and can cause a fire. If you can find a cabinit shop they will have saw dust from dried wood.
Good luck. Thgom

tou... Ceder chips are the best for bedding and pigeon pen floors. You get them from pet stores or feed stores.JDA

I use the cedar chips, but only a couple handfuls when I replace the old bedding. I actually prefer the wood pellets for my primary bedding. If they dont get wet, theres not as much dust as I get with the pine shavings. I was told that the cedar is bad for the birds resperatory, so I use it sparingly. Does anyone have the myth busters info on this, or is it just another myth? ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

I use pine needles or "straw" and it works well for the nest bowls and floor of the loft. ---------- Ty Vapor Trail Lofts

Hey Ty...I sometimes use "hay" instead of "straw". The straw shaft is hollow and allows for "bugs" in live in, also the straw keeps the moisture which in a haven for parasites...
