I am seeking info on the background of a mason bird of mine,so if anyone is willing to take a look at the pedigree of the bird, and to see what birds were used in the breeding program and could furnish me with some info i would really appreciate it,i have noticed a 48/89 mason cock bird spoken about on the forum and a 4366 spoken about in another mason topic, both these band numbers are on the ped,i would really like to find out as much as i can about all the birds used,so if anyone is willing to have a look plz post your e mail address and i will forward the pedigree on to you,or i will post it here if you prefer.

thank you.

you need more 86/19 and 4366 thru your pedigree. you get the kit to lift a little extra and less eratic rolling. 48 birds are lower flying. 48 blood good only if you live on farm or a field. i know mason real well. he flies his birds on a field type environment always 3 houses high. the 86/19 and 4366 birds lift and in my opinion recollect quicker.

the 86/19 would be far back in your ped shukz. it would be in your best interest to inter breed. or alternativly import new birds of mason. i know a lad who has an inbred cock down from 86/19. he breeds good birds from this cock. you can post your ped on here and i will tell you what know.

Hi Speedball and Shukz
I fly Masons in a built-up area without low flying,in fact they fly a good height for judging. I think it's
more the training and feeding that will influence flying height and time. In regards to 48, 4366 and 19 they are all related, 48's sire red griz 1986 1746 was out of red bald 1978 18 x white 1980 83.
Red cheq 1984 4366 was bred from 18 x 83 which makes 4366, 48's aunt.
Also, red griz 1986 19's grand mother on his mother's
side blk badge 1976 28 was full sister to 1978 18.
So 48, 4366 and 19 are related and if you study the Mason pedigrees you find most of his rollers carry
similar ancestry.
Shukz I've sent you a pedigree of my no 1 producing Mason hen, post it here so Speedball can see it, I would be interested in his opinion on her breeding.

Regards
Steve
