I have used well water for my birds and they are so healthy .I have not used any medication for my birds. Yes i lost a few here and there. But no big lost.I lost more birds to BOP than city water or well water. MY birds drink the well water like crazy. They act like it is some kind of candy water. The closer you are to the foothills, the better the well water. So if you got a well I would advise to test the water first for other contaminants.

Like to talk about medication vs Going Natural. Now I am not a doctor and what I am saying is just my opinion, and what has worked for me. I fell that to many bird men and bird women are relying on medication in hopes of having the best birds. I say stay natural and lets and build your loft on the most strongest birds you have. This will save you so much cash. Now let me say this . When some of my birds got an upset stomach i added a cap full of bleach or some apple vinegar not both at the same time. remove all food and grit when you do this. Treat for 2 days. then give fresh h20 and a little bit of food for 2 day. Add some sweet fresh corn on the cob and some lettuce. Now I Know bleach is not natural but I do wash my clothes with it and I'm o
OK. But that is the most harsh thing i use. I also wash everything down with bleach. Twice a year i even wash the concrete floor in the loft.

What I'm trying to say is keep the loft clean ,food and water clean. the birds immune system builds up. Watch your birds you can tell who the strong ones are. And those are the birds you breed from. And that's all I do. In gist keep it simple!!!

Awesome ,Tony I Knew it had to be someone else out there who knows the secret. I swear I need to bottle this stuff. Yes it is fresh and clear. We are lucky to have a well.

I know you must have some powerful birds.Do you hear that guys and girls. Now that I know you have a well the next time if i decide to try a new bloodline i will buy from you. Keep up the good work!!!

I would have to agree JT, I don't own a well at my house but my sister does a quarter mile away. They do a lot better on the well water even with our mildly chorinated city water.

As for medications, I go natural stuff too. I don't bleach my lofts though just keep them fairly clean.

Mr Codero,Find a well pump company in your area and see if you can post a add to inquire to anyone who has a well to contact you. They may just be your neighbor.

Brudhpete, Glad to here you go natural. I feel it produces a much better bird. Maybe im going over board on bleaching my concrete. but i only do lt twice a year.

What is the true difference in a fireball roller and Birmingham roller, which really is the better bird , Are is it really the same bird with a name change. which was first, and if the last question asked is answered with proof. Then we will know.

Have you had your well water analyzed? If they are drinking extra water it may have too much lime or other mineral in it that causes that. It's real cheap to send a sample.

A long time ago it was tested, I will retest . and mostly it was only on real hot days when the birds would consume a super large amount of h20. And yes a retest is in order. Thank you for your informative responses.I'm never to old to learn.
