I use a concrete floor, easy to scape and wash down with bleach. Wash down in hot weather . You want the floor to dry fast. You don't want a damp loft.

I have used concrete floor in a wooden shed in the past. They are very practical and stop the floors springing up and down when you walk around. It will also prevent the shed blowing away so easily, lol
I was told not to use concrete because it would be damp! The secret is to get a very good smooth finish then it is easier to clean.

From past experience with concrete floors in all sorts of buildings.... Concrete has a tendency to stay "damp", unless the building is properely ventilated and heated.

Paul is right concrete stays damp..I live in a 2 story concrete house and downstairs is the garage and its open front and back the sides are close with windows and cement floor which in the future I plan to tile..I put my weight bench on it and it started to get rusty so I put a small piece of carpet around it when I lifted the carpet one day it was all damp.so if you plan on using cement floor tile it up it does create moist and dampness which is bad for the birds..,,,

Concrete floors hold bacteria and germs they also hold moisture. What you need to do is seal the surface with thompsons water seal or use some of that grey epoxy, it works uber good. This will give you a superior concrete floor.

Wannaroll, Thanks, I left the part out about the Thompson water seal, That is a must, and good ventilation. I also added a drain and slanted the floor so h20 can drain .Don't forget to put a screen over drain to keep out creatures.
