It used to be that around here where I live when the Killdeare's arrived in the spring it was safe to fly your birds and the BOP would leave you pretty much alone until the Killdeare left in the fall but now I got hit steady all year but I have a worse problem than that it seems Huge flocks of plugs(wild pigeons)will join in my kits take a few turns and take off with some of my young birds in tow I think I lost more birds this way than BOP

sp 19 - I've been hit with BOP since July this year. Its only my 2nd year flying and I lost 50% of my birds. Either they got eaten, or when the kit scattered in fear, they got lost & didn't come back. Very discouraging.
I did lose one youngster to a flock of feral pigeons. I keep looking to see if any of the street birds roll when they fly, lol.

I lost several birds lately to BOP and don't fly every day any more but to clean the kit box I have to put them in the sky the other night I had 3 hawks chaseing at the same time they must have been young BOP because they didn't get to eat. Dennis

I had about 10 young birds get lost in an overfly 6 years ago. They went 12 blocks from my house and I found them two days latter on top of a gas station as I was getting gas for my lawnmower. I went back to my house got a wire rabbit cage and some feed. I parked my truck in front of the store opened the cage and put feed inside the wire. I started whisteling to the birds as I did when I fed them. They all came inside the wire cage and allowed me to trap them. The people were inside the store were watching this escapade and couldn't believe what they had just witnessed. When I went inside to pay for a beverage, a lady commented that I was the pigeon whisperer. Any way its just some food for thought!!!!

This has been my worst year for bop attacks. I started the year with 14 old birds and I have three left. I did raise a few and bought some. But the fun is gone when the BOP is so plentyful. And you can't fly your birds. Iam done, I give up, I have been trying to find someone to give my rollers too.
