Hello,
My name is Pat Hogan and live in rural western Wisconsin. Yesterday, I became a new member after speaking with Tony for several minutes about getting started with rollers. Thanks again Tony for your patience and help!
After seeing a video on rollers this summer, I became absolutely captivated by the beauty and majesty of these grand animals in flight. Currently I am awaiting a heart transplant and the desire to learn, train, and breed rollers for myself has become the central positive motivation to fight through this difficult period in my life. For over 30 years I bred, trained, and hunted old fashioned English Setters for grouse hunting in the WI. woods and was a passionate trout fisher. Those activities unfortunately have reached a crashing halt due to heart decline. However, with the full support of wife I looking to the future after transplant and am ready to begin purchasing some birds to call my loft, home...
I am looking to buy some younger birds from any of you that might have some for sale in WI. MN. or IA. Tony has offered a few names of members with his bloodlines in my neck of the woods and am now trying to expand my request for help by this outreach. My wife Jacque and I would enjoy a drive this fall to see some kits in action and purchase some before the weather turns bad. I look forward to getting to know you through this community of roller enthusiasts! My email is grousepoint@yahoo.com. Peace to all...

Hey Pat, Welcome, I fly Tony's Ruby's and I like them a lot. There is nothing better then just standing in the loft each evening and handling the birds. Well, maybe watching them fly! :)

I talked to Pat today and he will be coming over to my place next week to watch and talk birds. He says he has a loft already and is eager to get some rollers. Pat I just talked to you a few minutes, but I'm sure you will enjoy this hobby very much. If you have questions , the people on this list will be willing and ready to help. See you next week. ---------- MJ

Welcome! If you were captivated by those videos you watched, you will be even more captivated when you see them in real actions. The first time I saw them roll, it felt like watching a circus trapeze act when I was a kid--made you nervous, yet excited at the same time. It was fun! Now take care of your heart. Wish you good health!
