Hi All,
The above banded bird was brought to me last evening from the Exeter CA area. It ended up with a friend of mine up there who is a wildlife rehabber. I believe the band was traced to the Central Roller Club in the Midwest but the actual owner not yet located. The bird does appear to me to be an elder roller, so I ASSume the band is not reused and that the bird really is 8 years old.
I further ASSume that the current owner of this bird is located in the Exeter CA area.
If anyone can help find where this Roller belongs, please post back here or e-mail me at TAWhatley@sbcglobal.net.
The person who brought me the bird last evening will be going back home on Monday or Tuesday and could take the bird back with her if the owner is located by then. If that doesn't work out, the bird will be staying here in So Cal with me until the owner is found or permanently if needed.
Thanks in advance for any assistance in getting this bird back home.

in the bay area there is a club called crc. they deal with color birds.

Transport no longer available for this bird .. transporter had to leave early and went home today. If the owner is located and the bird is wanted back, just let me know. My friend will be down this way again in the near future and can take it back up to central Cal.

Why dont you guy's in Cali get Terry a list of the club names in the area with a contact number of the band director ?

Thank you, Ty, for that post! A list of contacts would be lovely, but I doubt very much that it will happen .. thus .., I'll just still be here posting about the rollers that come my way. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't welcome a list of contacts because I would!
