If you have a good driving record and you can pass the drug screen there are a few companies that will hire you in the general area. Try the tanker companies (Cox, Evans, Pacific Tank Lines, KAG West). There are a few others but these outfits will hire drivers with little or no expirence. Some of the freight outfits are looking for drivers also.

The economy is bad but as long as you are in the food, energy or shit area you will have a job forever. People have to eat, move around and have someone haul their shit away. Looking in those fields will be your best chance at local work.

If I was up against the fence and was going to lose my place I would think about going out on the road for a bit till things change, or I find something different.

Good luck,

Mark

mark... i know what your saying and im very close to going out on the road. but i dont have anyone to watch or feed my 80 birds for me and two dogs and 6 gameroosters. i have be looking for other things, other then truckdriving jobs.i went into an agency the other day to apply for gerenal labor, man the line was out the door. i was so over quailfyed for the job i was applying for. and there was some much testing i wanted to scream, you would have thought i was testing to get into college or something like that. its like there trying to find any little thing to not hire people, it crazy. i wanted to CULL everyone in the office. why would i need all this testing to go dig holes at a constrution site, or to sweep floors in some warehouse.
