Lionel - K onda? That looks strange if the bird has a BCRC band with no year. There are only three explanations and that would be first someone ordered bands and it could be thier initials. Secondly, someone rebanded a bird from the Los Angeles BCRC club and Glenn may have information for this? Thirdly, the original club that started in 1960 and the guys in Washington state may still be banding BCRC? I already fired an email to Bruce and my friend Bill up there. I would not suspect a club ordering a band with no year.

Leonel - Is the breeder of this bird you purchased a local from California? I am pretty sure Glenn will be able to help you now with those numbers that are listed.

Intresting pedigree...LaRon...Dick Stephens & the guys up in the Northwest banded BCR......There is a club in Canada that bands BCRC (British Columbia Roller Club). In 1995 in hornor of Cornell Norwood, Butch Matthews had some bands made up that had no year. They were made by Gey Band and Tag. The above bird I dont know of, except for it's grand parents and great grandparents. When did Bob Scott die?

I emailed Gene Giegoldt about the NBRC band. He said it belonged to David Grisso from El Sobrante, CA. and he didnt have any info on him. If the BCRC band is from Canada and the NBRC Band is from northern ca I dont think Bob Scott bred this bird.

Lionel...The band # you ask about(BCRC 2517)is not on the pedigree you posted. The BCRC banded birds on the pedigree were bred by Cornell except for 422, I do not know who bred that bird....Glenn

The BCRC band should Gold in color , rolled rim type made by Gey Band & Tag. So far as Bob Scott breeding the bird I dont know, the birds that Cornell bred on the pedigree are right. Several of the birds on there are unrung even tho there are numbers there. That is something that Elliott Norwood does on his pedigree's. He may have bred 422, I don't know. Still a very intresting pedigree........Glenn

The Question of the day is....When did Bob Scott pass away & is this bird still fertile?

Im not sure when Bob Scott passed I think it was 99 or 00. the bird is still fertile I bred him all season I was getting 2,1,2,1 every other round 2 Im hoping to breed him again next season and stocking something off him before he becomes unfertile.

Hey Lionel,That bird was NOT, bred by Bob Scott,Who ever you got it from gave you some BS,Not Bob Scott,None of the birds on the pedigree have ever been from Bob,The bird might be good, don't get me wrong.
Breed it and see what you get,It looks like a Norwood bird.

The reason I was looking for info on this was to be sure that the background was correct.

Now looking at the info:
The BCRC band was made in Honor of Cornell Norwood in 95 and matches in year to the NBRC95 band. and the birds on the pedigree were bred by Cornell Norwood. This would mean that the pedigree on the bird is correct although its not certain who the breeder was.

would you guys agree?
