Me and CR250 went to the Pageant of Pigeons yesterday. We were first timers to the event and had a great time. I met some big dogs of the roller world. Jerry Higgins, Sal Estrada to mention a few. Sal told me the story about how him and Tony C. first got hooked on rollers when they were little kids. Tony C. you should post that story on the site it was a good one.

Dave...Did you take you boys to the Pageant? That has locked may a young person into pigeons for life. It is so large for little guys that they will always remember The Pageant of Pigeons.JDA

I went to the Pageant today and was pleasantly surprised to see so many Rollers entered and so many Roller fanciers there. There were so many breeds of pigeons that I soon realized that I could only get probably one pic of each breed before I ran out of camera memory and battery power. Here's the pics I took today .. there are a couple of Rollers in them: http://www.rims.net/2009PageantOfPigeons/

Ha! I see that someone else caught a pic of that Mosaic Frillback that was for sale .. it was still there this afternoon. It's the one with one gray wing and one white wing ..

Glad to hear the roller hobby had a good showing this year. I haven't been able to attend since 2006 and it was pretty weak and John Vanden Broek had little support. I hope next year I can attend and the rollers are well represented again. Enjoy your next fly!

Thanks for those pictures Dave and Terry. Nice looking birds as usual. It is amazing that there are many varieties of pigeons, isn't it? We can choose any breed we want. It seems that there is at least one pigeon breed that fits our likes.
