I am missing 21 birds, all 2009 birds. Banded NBRC S 500's on one leg; the other leg is banded with my phone number. They were removed from a kit box. Most are black with white markings. Thibodeaux strain.

I hate to hear that NIck. It has happened to me also, and it is not a pleasant feeling. Now they have to get past cameras and a bulldog at my place......I know you were fond of those Thibodeaux birds, though. I take it you don't lock your kit boxes......

Nick, sorry to hear the BAD news, why would someone want to steal birds? they are useless to them, have to keep them hidden, cant fly them, different management so the performance will not be there without the guidance of previous owner.
should be the old west law of hangin russlers and thieves!----------

I don't think local people know what they are. I am believing they were removed by someone passing through the area. I don't live too far from I-40 or I-55. My address is published in a few places and some know I got the Thibodeaux's. I believe it was not local people.

Nick, I hate a thief! They stole more then just birds. They took years of hard work, your dreams and hopes, your plans for the future. Sure you can breed more but you should not have to. You are a tough ole curmudgeon! :) Like I believe that for even one second!! Tough, yes, but you have a big ole heart and I feel your loss. Sorry, my friend. I hope some of them stay local and might find their way home.

Nick - That is horrible. Pigeon thieves and horse thieves deserve the same old punishment.

"I don't think local people know what they are. I am believing they were removed by someone passing through the area".

Someone close by had to be watching, or knew you routine
and how long you would be away.

Could you post the band numbers?
Somebody may find them for sale on eggbid or a petshop.

Sorry to hear that bad news. I suppose those thief(ves) know(s) you. I find it highly unlikely that a passing thief will steal your birds. My guess is that some person noticed your birds and they were good and they want it bad to even attempt to steal a feathered pets.

Roy,

The Thibodeaux's is all they took. All were 2009 birds.

Jerry,

I see your point.

Nick,
My guess would be someone from out of state close by that has been to your loft. Does this ring any bells?

Nick,
Check with Aubrey and see if anyone has tried to buy birds from him recently. I know I recently picked up everything he had to let go. He recently sent some birds to an auction around your neck of the woods, I believe. Try to find out who got them.

There were some roofers that would stop working to watch them fly...........I have thought about them, but who knows. Tracey, I will give Aubrey a call. I haven't talked to him in a couple of weeks anyway.

Birds removed? That's just terrible Nick! I hate to hear about things like this. It's really tough to overcome losing good birds... no matter how they disappear.

Locking your birds down or a viscious dog might help. Just my opinion.

Take care....

Check with the kids in the neighborhood. Just ask around. It is possible that are kids who done that.

I hate to hear that Nick,
That's a terrible feeling. I've had more than my share of that happen to me...
I hope you find out who did that and get them back.

Feel for you Nick. Unfortunately we are not alone when it comes to birds being taken. In 1995 I had to relocate my birds at my old house due to a nieghbor turning me in to the city. I was fortunate to be able to keep them at my friend's fenced lot behind his bird store. No one showed any interest in the birds as they were mostly checks and bars, very little white even. Then I got some color birds from James Turner. All of the sudden alot of people were asking about the birds and within 2 weeks 40 birds stolen! I had about 8 pair in my breeding loft and a few extras they didn't take. But it is the worst feeling to go thru, besides your home or family/friends being robbed. When I called my pigeon buddies to report the theft I was amazed how many had gone thru the same experience. Way too many! Hope you get them back. I never found a single bird that was taken. A good number of my roller friends in So. Cal. have been hit at one time or another. The lowest forms of life do these things. Hopefully we can keep them out of our lives as best as possible. Good luck with your birds. Sincerely, Don M.
