I would like to take a shot here. This sounds like the bird became overly excited when you went in to feed and it flew up, hit it's head on something and broke it's neck, causing it to flip over backwards until it died. I seen this in pheasants before when they would fly up hard into the wire. Lew

Lew that might of been what happened i tried to dip his head under the water a few quick times because if a bird gets nocked out that sometimes brings them back.It looked like it was rolling in place. Dennis

Hey Rookie that happend to me on 2 occasions, also at feeding time, bird started acting eratic and going mad, turning in circles and flipping,i got worried because it was my foundation cock, luckley it didnt die, mine happend just as i gave the feed,to me it seemed as if the bird was choking,i cannot say for sure it was choking but to me thats what it looked like. ---------- Shukz(RSA)

Some birds will roll in the loft if kept confined too long or if they are unstable. This bird probably tumbled as it was dropping to the floor for food. If it hit it's head it would be it's nervous system taking over, like Lews Pheasant. The body can carry moving on after the brain is dead. It is then a zombie pigeon. : 0 ) Pete.
