Hey John, I appreciate your comments! When I have looked into exporting birds, the time and paperwork involved to get medical certifications, book flights and the 6 hour round-trip drive from Seymour to Kansas City airport becomes very costly. This would not even include the 30 day quarantine that is required.

If someone were to setup a proper export business, I would be his first customer!

Are the guidelines for export listed in the USDA handbook\website. I used to ship horses and cattle, to canada and it was'nt that hard. Give me a point of referance, and i will give it a shot.

Living close to the border helps.

Thanks Rick, turning out more blues than normal this time around. What's nice is I kept some for myself. I am looking forward to working with them.

Each of these blues have 644 in their background. This hen was a deep 60 footer. Good quality rolling style and great velocity. One of my best all time stock birds.

Tony, I bred a real nice black check Ruby hen this year, she was doing 25'- 1.5Q. before I shut down this winter. I also bred some more that are coming along nicely and a few that were doing well, but lost them to the hawks.I will post a picture of the hen when I take some pics.

Aww Michael, sorry to hear about them preds! But it is nice to hear about that black check hen and the quality you are seeing. Will you be flying her this Spring? And is the 644 hen in her background? I will look forward to your posting some pictures when you can.

Tony, 644 is in the background of the hen. 274 '07 Blu check cock I got from you is the father and a blu check badge hen I bred out of 025 '07 cock and 269 '07 hen I got from you. I got some nice birds out of the lavender hen you sent me a few years back 333 '04 , mated to the 025 cock. I lost a beautiful blu badge out of that pair to the falcon in Sept. It's nest mate is a lavender that is decent , but not as good as the one I lost. I have a picture of the lavender I'll try to post it. Yes I will be flying them again this spring. My best months are April and May. I think the BOP's are busy breeding and there are more song birds for them to eat.

Hey All, When I finalized on which of my Ruby's I would base my loft on, I discarded everything but three birds, one Ruby cock, one Ruby hen and one hen I had raised from my Ruby stock. All three have 644D in their background and I have no regrets in my decision. I get birds of Ash Red, Blues, Blacks, Lavenders and Red Bars. They are a pretty bunch to watch fly but the best is the improvement I'm seeing in the air. They are not perfect and like every family need to be managed but the potential is there and I would recommend Ruby's even for a starter newbie. I have held loft my as closely in-bred/line-bred as possible with no adverse traits showing to date which speaks to the quality of Tony's stock. Would I get more birds from Tony? No, I have my own! :) Would I if something happened to mine, you bet I would!

Mike,
Didn't I send you an Andalusian self hen #805? I raised two babies off of her before I sent her out. I just wanted to let you know that both of them just graduated to the 09 A team!

Cliff, Yes, I have her, That's good to know. I didn't get to many young last year off of those pairs, will see what happens this year. In fact I don't think I have any left that are flying. The falcons and coopers killed me last year and they liked those pretty one's. lol' I lost about 60 and have been locked down more than flying since june. The birds I have left go back in the air next month.... can hardly wait.

Mike,
I paired her with an Andy self cock that has produced well for me. I'd get a few off of one cock and then switch them around and get a few more off the other. It sounds like you've got your work cut out for you with those BOP. Good luck. By the way, I gave one of the cut glass pigeons you did for me to James Turner. He was very appreciative of your talents. The other is hanging in my living room window....I get a lot of comments on it.
Thanks again!

Tony,
I saw your young bird pictures and was thinking that they really looked good myself.. I was sort of surprised to see that many dark checks. Keep up the good work.

Hey Mike,

Real nice looking Blue Check. She looks small like all the other Rubys I handled up there. Man, you need to move closer to me so I can visit more often :)

On the last photo... I see some weeds growing thru. John E. told me once that guys down South feed that stuff to their pigeons. Notice any of yours taking in the greens?

Thor
