Joe that's a big bird. F.Y.I. the California Condor is twice that size.

True, definitely a vulture, but in the 70's my dad spoke to a cattle rancher in Caliente Canyon, California who said a giant bird / condor took one of his calves, very interesting. John

Thats interesting. Vultures dont have talons like raptors. But I could see a condor coming down on a young calf and helping himself. Joe ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/

I heard of vultures taking the newborn cattle as soon as they are born. But that video was crazy. felt bad for the prey ---------- Flying in someone else's backyard: Portable Kits

I've seen the first one before, a definate set-up. The eagle is released very quickly , and the deer stands very little chance. It's not anything like hunting as we know it. The second one is very suspicious as well. The kid looks to be at a dead-end and has little awareness as though it is a domestic animal. Is the second goat taken from exactly the same spot? It's hundreds of feet up on a mountain, yet the bleating of the goat is clearly heard on the video. Now why do you thing there was a microphone high up on that particular spot?

Ya I have seen some of them befor too Pete but it is still impressive to see a bird take an animal that size even if it is staged. The bird still has to wrestle that animal down and that is no easy task. At least I wouldnt think it would be.
