Hammer, The foundation of this family came from a few differrent sources. Ray Perkins, Jerry Lynn and the Northwest breeders Joe Houghton, Bruce Cooper, Karl Krebs via Dave Sanchez and Richard Espinoza.

The birds that Jaconnette got from me were directly off of son's and daughters of pure JLS and Pensom birds that I got from Frank Lavin in the late 60's and early 70's after I had moved to San Diego in 77. Ones like 1353,3821.3807 2564 and "Telstar" to name a few. He got a Red Bar Muffed cock from me that I believe started his Lavender Lazer line. Best Jerry Lynn

And as Richard said to me "the Perkins birds were supposedly still hanging around one of his former homes and he had sent a family member bands and asked them to band some of the young and send them to him". As for Rusty that was a bird bred by David Sanchez and Richard Espinoza. I never heard there were Fireballs but maybe the left behind "phantom" Perkin's birds were maybe really something else? Richard Jaconnette would be the only one whom really knows what families/rollers he used to create his family. Jerry

I am still doing well......many people come in here and take up names of the well known and later to be found not to be that person, so I quit asking them. Took me a year to ask if Pete Handy was the real Pete Handy(LOL).
I hope you are doing well.

Thanks jerrylynn am just curious. i flew a family of jacknetts from 88 till 1998 .these birds were all selfs . all blue check/ash reds. they were great kitters and flew the 8 pattern. worked well as a team. but would go stiff at a yaer or 2 old. if i fed 20 birds 1 and half cup of fead they would stay up 5 or 6 hours. not like what we see to day

Hi Nick I am doing ok I miss the rollers and the fellowship I have two young grandsons one 4 and one 2 that I try to keep up with on my weekends and I still work a full time job. It keeps my old self out of trouble. Take care I look in on the list a few times a week to keep up with what is still going on in the sport. Jerry

Hammer I am not sure what Richard got into at that date and time. But it probably still had plenty to do with the family of Pensom's in one way or another.
I had my birds down to a tuna can of milo for 20 birds and on a days rest they would still sky out and stay up there. Maybe others have had different luck maybe Glenn or Paul keepimg the birds down or had figured out how to keep them at there best and maintain fly time.
I only flew in the WC that was pretty much all I did fly in. Most always the birds were for my pleasure. I tried to breed them to sping deep fast and tight and still have them kit.
I missed out on a few WC what would have been some pretty good scores and top finishes but the birds always seemed to want to get up to spin at their best. My family did better when they got up. Best to you Jerry Lynn

Hammer, you have to adjust the feed (grains and quantity) for fly time.
