The first of three competitions was completed on May 30 with the following results:
1. Jerry Holder - Weighted Points 10 - 98.0
2. Sal Ortiz - Weighted Points 8 - 72.80
3. Mike Allen - Weighted Points 6 - 47.32
4. Nick Siders - Weighted Points 4 - 46.80
5. Dave Hafner - Weighted Points 2 - 38.88
6. Randy Wilson - Weighted Points 2 - DQ
7. Kenny Henderson - Weighted Points 2 - DQ
The judge was Carl Braker who drove from Southern Texas for us and did a fantastic job. He is a great friend.
The heat and humidity effected the performance of the birds, but it was still on a level playing field so the competition was fair for all; a good competition.
Mike and Sandy Allen also caravaned with us and it was fun for all. Lunch at the Ortiz's was again simply fantastic!! Guadeloupe Ortiz does it up big time. Got fed a magnificent breakfast at the Hafner house. Pat Hafner took care us in style. Linda Siders gave us all a great lunch. She has always been good to me.
