If it is a young bird the parents or another bird is pecking him or her. If it is eating on it's own remove it from the environment it's in. Thats what it looks like to me.

Bolding Try some Rogain LOL ,no just kidding how long have they been that way It may just be as Thom says just other birds pecking at them. Is it just these 2, Move them to another place and see if feathers will grow back.

Hey Jerry, My old eyes are not what they used to be. I could not be sure if it was young or old from the picture but it still looks like scalping to me. If that is what is happening they should grow back just fine.

Raul, I worked with a guy that spent thousands of dollars on every anti hair loss cream or lotion there is. If any of that stuff worked he would look like "Cousin It" from the Adams Fanily! :)

You can also put a little bit of wheat germ oil on the affected areas. It will help soothe the birds also. They usually have it behind the counters at health food stores.

Raul, You might want to tape their first five flights and just let them hang out on the kit box. They can look around and with no hawks they should be safe. But any time I tape my birds wings, I stay with them until I get them back in.

Take care my friend

I am going to go out on a limb here a say that your perches are too close together. These birds are likely bottom dwellers and the birds above them are pecking them for territorial reasons. their perch is their only territory. To close and they will pick at each other. Most settle down after a while but I have seen some that just get pecked up all the time. Joe

That's not a limb Joe, that's good observation. I should have thought of that.

I figure that is what is happening Thom. I have seen it in my own loft many times and has caused me to reposition my pertches on more than one occasion. Joe
