There are bunch of books available on rollers at pigeons supply website. I am wondering if any one know the best book to buy which has detail information on rollers training, feeding and breeding etc…
I own Winner with Spinner book and honestly there is not much. There are more interviews then actual subject and after reading, I get more confused as one guy talk about one thing and other say totally opposite...

Rauf my opinion is that Pensoms book "The Birmingham Roller" is the best out there on the breed. Hatchers books are very interesting due to the old pictures of the oldtimers, and they go into the history of the original imports and such. As for training and such except for the bare basics I'm not sure that it can really be put onto paper due to so many families handling so different. Common sence and experiance is where you will gain much of your knowledge. And much of it will come from a good mentor as case by case situations arise also.

I am the Librarian of my local club and have a array of reading materials on hand. I say the best reading material on rollers are old articles written by the past great fliers. I don't believe I have found a great book on rollers yet but I too would have to say that the over all book would be hands down 'The Birmingham Roller Pigeon' by W.H.Pensom What family of rollers do you have because this will greatly change your views on choosing a book? There are books about the: 'Fire Ball' strain, 'Contenital' strain, 'Plona' strain, and so on. Flying them hard in Minnesota, Thor

I, too would agree that Pensom's book is the best reference guide. It is, however, not the Bible to the competition guys as it blows holes in their theories about Blue Checks, etc. being the ONLY good performers. Pelase read the book carefully as you will understand Pensom's love for the birds and hobby.
