I'm sure most of you have lots more experience with British Roller men than me, but I've found a few neat links I thought you might enjoy to read about and check out some birds.

C Robo,

I am intrigued by your nest box door/perch setup. It looks as though they are built up above the floor level of the nest box. If this to keep babies from falling out?

Also, it looks as though they may slide up a nd down to close the nest box. Is this the case?

Finally, I like a fairly large opening to allow the box owners to kick out intruders easily without hurting eggs or youngsters. I have heard and thought that your type of opening may exacrebate this problem and cause an increase in jostling in the nestbox should an intruder enter.

Interested in your thoughts.

Robbo, nice terrier.

I had an airedale once and never could trust him around the birds or any other animal for that matter. His prey drive was too strong.
Can you train a terrier to leave the birds alone? I'm thinking about getting an Irish terrier but would like to hear what other terrier owners have to say first.

Thanks,
Russ

I have a 50/50 jack russel - fox terrier. He is a terror on vermin up to the size of large rats but does not hurt the birds. I can take him into the breeder loft with squeakers on the floor and he won;t touch them.

Of course, I wouldn't leave them in there alone with them! LOL

Small to medium size terriers are the best dogs to have around the birds in my opnion.
