Hello guys, I would just like to do little static on use of Pellets for breeders. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Do you use Pellets for breeders? What you like and dislike about Pellets? How rollers react to it (like to eat, do not like to eat)? Protein %? Which Brand?

I use a 2 part pellets and 1 part shelled corn mix for the breeders. The pellets are 16%. Some days they go for all the corn first, other times it's the pellets that disappear first but they don't throw it all over like they did with grains.

I use 1 part pellet to 1 part wheat/milo mix..I also add a little sauflower. I usually start the mix above at about Late feb to early march. I use regular pigeon feed and just add some pellets in early Feb....because the birds still eat the popcorn...I mix the pellet wheat and milo mix when they stop eating the popcorn in the pigeon mix. I use a 28% pigeon pellet. I use the higher % because I am cutting it with wheat milo and sauflower. Plus cutting it keeps the poop from getting watery..

I feed 14 to 16% pelletts frome Leach and I sometimes get 14% pelletts from Purina. They are ok, babies are nice and fat and both are the same size> I clean the cage a little more often is the only draw back. Glenn
