Lets get a couple of things straight. I offered to help Tony in an experiment not for the freebie, but to see how far these eggs could be shipped and survive. I live in Central Canada. If they survived the trip here it would have been a great success. I have raised pigeons for the past twenty five years and don’t need Tony’s or anyone elses birds to make my birds better. If the eggs had of made it here and hatched they would have most likely been given to a new person starting out because I don’t introduce new birds to my program. I have a closed loft. For your information it turns out it was an interesting turn of events. It turns out that the eggs would not have been permitted across the border so we didn’t even try. You need to get your facts straight before you start judging me. Then you say I didn’t have anything worth paying for well that is good cause I don’t charge at all for my two cents it is free and I will be sure to give it to you. As for me attacking Tony on other sites I didn’t say anything there that I wouldn’t have said to Tony in person or on this site if he hadn’t of gone postal on all of us and locked us out. I am not even sure where you are coming from? Were you even part of this site before Tony “PRIVATIZED “ it. I never had an issue with Tony as a person only that I along with others here were warned about a certain topic and told not to post on said topic then after all of that Tony started the very topic up that he said to leave alone. Then when we called him on it he didn’t apologize or remove (removal is what he has done to many topics he deemed inappropriate and will probably do to this one) the topic or revamp it he just locked all of us out without a single word or explanation. When we tried to reach him via email the was no response. Not even after two weeks! Further for your education it wasn’t the $3.75 membership that most of us were pissed about it was the lack of respect that we felt Tony showed towards us. It was like we didn’t matter that he made the site and no one else had contributed to the sites success. When anyone who was here knows all to well that this site is great in part by all of Tony’s hard work and dedication to it, but it is also great because of the valuable information that other fanciers put in here. If Tony wanted to go private he should have got input from the people that post here. I know he didn’t have to but it would have been the respectful thing to do. He also could have said guys this is what I am planning on doing. Even went as far as to email his members of the change but it was done in a moment of anger and or frustration and I can sympathize with that but when you are wrong you should apologize for your mistakes so feelings can heal. So for your information it wasn’t the membership or the “PRIVATIZATION” it was the manner in which it all came about. Just a quick word of advice to Tony. Don’t get to rapped up in editing everything that is said on this site. Put a disclaimer in the membership and let people express their opinions. “Roller fanciers are passionate about their birds and the hobby. Without the passion there is no hobby.” (Warby) Peoples feelings may get a little bruised but as you yourself can attest to you get over it and go on. Good Luck to you Tony in your future endeavours!

I was surprised when Tony made it private too but he never did owe me an explanation. Even if he decided to boot me out, he didn't owe me an explanation. I wasn't supporting his site. If I was that would be different. People have to understand this is his site and we are his guests. If he decides he wants to close the door or ask an unruly member to leave, that's his choice and he don't need to ask us our opinion.
Free speech in forums is a fallacy and something forum Trolls use to propagate their abusive behavior. In fact you can be slapped a law suit for misbehaving in internet forums. It's called Defamation of Character. It's not only immoral, it's illegal criminal activity.

It is Tony's site and it is very easy to use. The people who use it have always helped me with my questions. This site has always allowed me my opinions. The people who visit the site are great even the ones who got thier feelings hurt and ran off I respect.
I do wish they would come back, but some have very large prides. Pride has prevented me from enjoying things in the past and I have vowed never to let pride get in my way again. I enjoy this site because of the responses I get and its simplicity.

Yes, let's get it straight: This is a response to Warbie who has posted on this site and I feel makes practice of flaming me on other sites. His words are in caps and my response in regular caps.

Warbie, you tell others to get their facts straight and then you jump all over me without hearing my explanation or apparently caring once I have stated my case.
AS FOR ME ATTACKING TONY ON OTHER SITES I DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING THERE THAT I WOULDN’T HAVE SAID TO TONY IN PERSON OR ON THIS SITE IF HE HADN’T OF GONE POSTAL ON ALL OF US AND LOCKED US OUT.
What makes you think that it is okay to flame somebody publicly on a discussion board just because you are willing to say it to their face? You are trolling to elicit responses that serve your own personal needs. I did not “go postal”, if I did, I would have berated you and anyone else that had a negative word to post about me or what I have written on my site.
Rather than go there, I simply changed my policies and did away with the boards for awhile which you call going postal. LOL

Irrelevant, Alan has been a long time member of this discussion site and always has something good and/or supportive to say.
I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH TONY AS A PERSON ONLY THAT I ALONG WITH OTHERS HERE WERE WARNED ABOUT A CERTAIN TOPIC AND TOLD NOT TO POST ON SAID TOPIC THEN AFTER ALL OF THAT TONY STARTED THE VERY TOPIC UP THAT HE SAID TO LEAVE ALONE.
I have also previously stated that it is the crappy attitude and invective taken by some when it comes to a debate such as “color” which is the reason I stepped in to stop the debate that was spiraling out of control and other visitors were complaining to me to stop.
If parties to a discussion are willing to have a grown-up and mature debate on a controversial topic without getting personal with each other, then there is not much that cannot be debated.
In my color question/post I was trying to clarify some things and hopefully start up an intelligent and civil debate, all I got was pummeling out of the gate without anyone understanding where my question was coming from. I bet the guiltiest of the pummeling are those that felt the most corrected and are the ones that did the most complaining.
Rather than express the frustration and anger I felt and “go postal”, I simply removed the discussion board. My mother taught me that if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. This can be difficult though! LOL
THEN WHEN WE CALLED HIM ON IT HE DIDN’T APOLOGIZE OR REMOVE (REMOVAL IS WHAT HE HAS DONE TO MANY TOPICS HE DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE AND WILL PROBABLY DO TO THIS ONE)
Warbie, can you name 1, 2 or 3 topics that I “removed”?
WHEN WE TRIED TO REACH HIM VIA EMAIL THE WAS NO RESPONSE. NOT EVEN AFTER TWO WEEKS!
As explained before, my email was down for over 2 weeks as I was switching my mail service provider with another and they screwed up changing the wrong domain name and they could not figure out the problem until I dug down and found the problem myself and corrected it on my own.
Not answering email was because the email addresses were no longer in existence at that point due to the foul-up by my provider and NOT because I chose to ignore what people had to say. But you don’t care about that. You just want to pummel.
BTW, my toll free 800 number has always been available under contact link and no one called me to complain or “voice” their opinion, but some to offer support which I am eternally grateful for.
Many people hide behind their member names and think they are anonymous and can therefore say whatever they want, this is less and less true as the internet makes the world even smaller and sooner or later, someone knows who you are and that gets out. Many say they don’t post anything that they would not say in person, FALSE! Not true and those who say this know it.
Don’t start calling now as it is too late to make your point, you had the chance.
FURTHER FOR YOUR EDUCATION IT WASN’T THE $3.75 MEMBERSHIP THAT MOST OF US WERE PISSED ABOUT IT WAS THE LACK OF RESPECT THAT WE FELT TONY SHOWED TOWARDS US. IT WAS LIKE WE DIDN’T MATTER THAT HE MADE THE SITE AND NO ONE ELSE HAD CONTRIBUTED TO THE SITES SUCCESS.
If anyone felt disrespected, I apologize. If you knew me personally, you would know that is not how I handle myself towards others. The discussion pages are a very popular part of this site, if you had any postings and contributed in anyway to them, “THANK YOU”!
WHEN ANYONE WHO WAS HERE KNOWS ALL TO WELL THAT THIS SITE IS GREAT IN PART BY ALL OF TONY’S HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO IT, BUT IT IS ALSO GREAT BECAUSE OF THE VALUABLE INFORMATION THAT OTHER FANCIERS PUT IN HERE.

IF TONY WANTED TO GO PRIVATE HE SHOULD HAVE GOT INPUT FROM THE PEOPLE THAT POST HERE. I KNOW HE DIDN’T HAVE TO BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE RESPECTFUL THING TO DO. HE ALSO COULD HAVE SAID GUYS THIS IS WHAT I AM PLANNING ON DOING.
EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO EMAIL HIS MEMBERS OF THE CHANGE BUT IT WAS DONE IN A MOMENT OF ANGER AND OR FRUSTRATION AND I CAN SYMPATHIZE WITH THAT BUT WHEN YOU ARE WRONG YOU SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR MISTAKES SO FEELINGS CAN HEAL.
I AGREE! I was trying to find the best way to earn a profit, avoid the trolls and instigators as I did not think those kinds of people would pay for a discussion page and that would leave the civilized posters a better forum. I made a mistake as the regulars who were good people did feel slighted by the change. I have since apologized in another post for that mistake!
JUST A QUICK WORD OF ADVICE TO TONY. DON’T GET TO RAPPED UP IN EDITING EVERYTHING THAT IS SAID ON THIS SITE.
Good advice for all, however, what would you say to those who have a problem with certain postings and feel slighted enough by misunderstandings and good intentions to leave as you and others did?
