I have been reading all threw the archives tring to find answers to all my questions and Im still not sure on the whole feeding thing right now I have 1 pair that we have had for several weeks in the main loft. we have been flying them for 5 days now and they dont have height and they only roll a couple of feet and they only fly for a few min befor they are tuckered out and perch somewhere they will hang out around the loft then fly a few more min then they trap regaurdless to if there is feed in the loft or not (we have sputnik trap attached to loft)this is our 1st pair. We have 4 other pairs not in main loft yet, they are in isolation boxes because they where on babys when we got them this past weekend. we are hoping our 1st pair will be trained right and teach the other birds when we get ready to fly them. The question is how do we get them trained right to where they are flying 200-300ft for 25-30 min and rolling good? I think its all in the feeding and I read to feed a kit of 20 birds 3 cups of feed per day, so do you only feed them one time a day in the evening after you fly them? and for only 2 birds what is a good amount to feed them to get them flying good befor I let the other birds fly with them. Also what is a good age to start flying the babys? Is it necessary to keep both parents in box with babys or can I take the cocks out and put them in main loft with my 1st pair. sorry for all the questions, but I these are our first birds and I want to learn right so I can teach them right. I have a site with pics of our loft and our birds for anyone who would like to visit its: www.thewoodloft.photosite.com please sign my guestbook and let me know what you think. Any feed back would be greatly appriciated! Thanks

Woodloft.Tony has a section called Rollers 101 to the left of here.Print this off and study it untill you have it memorized.LOL. There is some very good info on how to train and take care of rollers. You won,t learn everything there is to know about rollers in this lifetime.Just keep it simple and have a lot of patience. After you get your first year behind you things will start falling in place a little better. They are a joy to raise. They also can be very fustrating at times too. There is a lot of sites on the innernet with all kinds of info on how to fly and train rollers.I still spend hours studying and hope to untill my eyes play out on me. Everyone has different ways of doing things so first just stick with the basics and learn as you go and each situation arises.Keep asking your questions and someone will try to help.David
