How To Post Pictures On This Thread:

Hello, first you would need to copy the image some where on the net. There are many free image hosting services. Once that is done you simply link it here by using following code

<;img src="http://address of the host you have copied the image/directory name if any/image file name">

Note: you do not need ; after < (I would need to put it to show you code otherwise site treat it a image)

For example. I have copied a image file to my ISP webserver and would like to make it available here here. My ISP webserver address is mywebpages.comcast.net but I have a directory there called "siddiqir" and there is subdirectory "rollers" and that is where I have copied the image file. The name of the image file is pair4_again.jpg

So the code would be

<;img src="http://mywebpages.comcast.net/siddiqir/rollers/pair4_again.jpg">

Note: You do not need ; after < (I would need to put it to show you code otherwise site treat it a image)

This is my all time favorite.
I took this while flying my kit during the massive San Bernardino wild fires in October of 2003. This image has not be retouched. The sky was that color. That is the glowing smoke that covered us for four days. It was pouring ash as I took this photo. To me, it symbolizes a moment of peace and freedom on an otherwise catastrohic day where they flew in the floating remains of so many peoples lost homes and belongings. I have this pictured blown up and framed on my wall.

I'm a salary photographer, so I have some decent gear..lol
I don't photograph them from a platform. My patio is quite a ways away from my kit box loft and my property is pretty deep. The bird fly over the back half of the property when low, which is when I can get some of those straight from the side shots. I generally wait until they are at the farthest point of their circling radius, which makes them kind of lean in towards my direction, thus giving the illusion that I am up high on their same level. In those kitting photos, the kit was probably about 50-75 feet off the ground. I shoot them in the morning where the sun is to my back. By doing so it illuminates the birds very well.

That first shot of Brian's ought to be on the NBRC logo and not the hand drawn one we currently have. That sums up my mental image what a roll should be......very exciting to me.

Old men pick strange things to be excited about....LOL

Brian M,
Great photos. Looks like some crows joinned up with your birds. Just pulling your leg here of course. Them crows must be from your Black Elvis Line (I think you have a line called that).
Your first photo - Rec. Red rolling (I believe it was a rec. Red) is very interesting. Now guys think that birds need a one feather width tail when they roll. I have seen birds roll with their tails spread out similar to this one. A question, does this bird look fuffy when it performs? All the ones I have seen that roll with their tails spread out performs with a fuffy appearence.
Thanks for sharing the great photos guys...

What Thor, you don't like my kit of Crows....LOL
I get blacks in all of my families, and it seems this year they are running even higher in numbers.
The red is a dark red check. He's pretty decent in the roll. Not what I would call fluffy by any means. The photo was taken when the kit was pretty low and maybe it was trying to put on the brakes..lol.
Brian.

Thanks Brian! He is a stud. I think he may have the makings of a foundation cock. I should know after this breeding season. Your pics are the ones that are impressive. Wow! Some incredible shots of birds in the roll.

Here's one last pic of a cock that has some interesting color to him.

Interesting cock bird. Looks to be partial expression of tortiseshell along with sooty. Notice the grizzled flights? It's not indigo as indigos don't show a tail bar.

Rauf I really like that Pepperhead , to bad you lost her, that bird has the look and the build of a first class Birmingham Roller , always breed towards birds like that and it's hard to go wrong as long as they have the motor.

Well guys, I'm lucky to still have this one that I posted above and the rest of my squeaks. I let my six squeaks out today and they had a great flight. 4th time out but this time they really went for it.They kind of split up, which I guess isn't good and some I thought I had lost. But within a hour or so they had all show up back at the loft.
After that I seen 5 hawks flying over my house most of the rest of the afternoon. Now I'm starting to see what you are all talking about with BOP. They must let each other know theirs easy meals out and about. Guess i got real lucky!
Better take photos of the rest before releasing again, might not see them again. I know some of you can't wait until my first bird gets to be dinner! I know it's coming.

Hey Alex,
I'm thinking that some people have taken off some of their photos after putting them on here and the ones that say password protected I think they just did it wrong so nobody can get into them. Nothing that your doing wrong!

Ruby Blacks, Hey Tony, the hen is first generation from the Ruby stock you sent. The squeek is hers and a cock that is also first generation Ruby. Since all I have is Ruby's, you get the credit, but I'll take the hit for management. You would be proud, I am!
