Hello Canspinners, No I'm not a devil, far from it.I beleive in being good to other people and it may come back to you.Santander is the state in Colombia where my wife was born.My point is that if I want to hear about religion,I will go to church.I'm not judging you or anyone else by your statements about religion, but you don't hear me spouting off about Darwin's theory on this ROLLER -PIGEON website(tho in my opinion it would be alot more relevant than saying any god has anything to do with pigeons. If it makes you feel good talking about your experience with god, fill yer boots man,but must you inflict it on all of us here?I have complete tolerance for ANY religion.Just please don't tell me religion is neccessary in life to be a good person. Yes,I bought my Doneks from Pavlos in Scarborough. He is very sick these days,I'm sorry to say,and needs to find a home for his birds as he can't look after them properly. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

Hey Kel why not talk about darwins theory share the knowledge let people decide for themselves what they want to beleave in. Genitics and cross breeding versus line breeding .Are we not al playing the evolutionary game with the breeding of our birds? I only talked about religion once you know when.. i mentioned it when I said the dove represents peace after afew of you guys were giving "Whats up a tough time" ...any ways lets get off this.
How much did he charge you for the donecks..I hope not too much.
I happen to know where he got his birds from he just started breeding donecks about 4 years ago after many years of not having birds
A real nice older man who got direct birds from greece after paying big bucks for them about 30 years ago gave paulos most of the birds for free... I hope god gave him the wisdom to reciprocate the same to you and only charge you for the shipping costs.

Hey All, the evolution debate has occurred on this site and I am happy to have someone bring it up again. I am less than a mere layman on the topic, but I have not had anyone convince me that the actual observable science backs up evolution to the level of calling it a fact.
Just 1 book titled "Darwin's Black Box" written by an evolutionist has me wondering how anyone can actually believe that evolution is now or has ever actually occurred.
From my point of view, it takes more "faith" to believe in the "theory" of evolution than to look around me and say that a supreme intelligence was involved in our existence.
Kelly, as for being a good person, that has absolutely little if anything to qualify me as a Christian to entrance into heaven.
If is my belief that Jesus died for the sins of mankind and that a personal relationship with Him causes a turning away from our fleshly ways to follow Him and live our lives according to his will for us.
Kelly, you're being an atheist is your choice, my being a Christian is my choice. Debating our goodness or deeds is not relevant to a relationship with Christ and experiencing redemption in Him. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I just lost any bit of respect i had for Paul.
He must be desperate for money and has obviously turned the hobby into a business which is ok but he overcharged you. He should have not charged you no more than 50.00 a bird tops
All the birds Pauvlos has and his other buddy who ships birds to the states for the mighty dollar were given to both of them for free by my dad .. except for one pair my dad actually charged him 100 bucks for.He must have gotten close to 80 birds for free from my dad who is now in his 30th year of having this line off direct imports.
Actually Pavlos turned his back on my dad after he figured he couldn't milk him for anymore free birds.
Thats why Isaid in an other post there are alot of pigeon men but only a few pigeon Gentlemen. Kel I believe you are a good person and respect your opinon as well just haveing some fun on the site helps the brain to stay active and sharpe...Were the birds booted or clean legged?
How long ago did you get the birds?

Tony, First of all I believe in God. But it is clear to me that evolution has given rise to the diversity of life that we see all around us. Also, I think that by now most scientists that look with an unbiased eye see evolution as fact. Probably the most convincing evidence came out when Carl Woose constructed a "tree of life" based on genetic information. It showed that all living things are related, and further work has shown that all human genes can be traced all the way back to our bacterial ancestors. Also, some years back, Pope John Paul said that in view of the overwhelming evidence he could no longer deny that humans and apes had evolved from a common ancestor. Charles Darwin was a beleiver in God.. He was also a pigoen breeder. Paul Gomez

If man had to gamble wether there be a God and that we are accountable to him OR that God doesnt exist and we are left to our own condition ..... wouldnt it be prudent to admit that God may exist vs. not. I mean if you're wrong, what have you lost. On the other hand, we could lose everything ... Not trying to argue, just thinking aloud.

Ok folks just like Kel got judgemental about our expressions of faith,we must in turn not get judgemental about his disbelief! It's your choice Kel just make sure you don't close your eyes or heart to anything including GOD!He has a way of letting us see him,but if you are completely closed up about him you'll miss it everytime. You might not care, but he does.
Just my belief Kel and i respect yours, just don't tell people not to express theirs.I believe it's a freedom we have here!Unless Tony gives us a NO MORE ultimatum.

Hey Paul, I love this topic! :-)
These guys can talk genes, and branches and roots, but they cannot explain how on the molecular level where the rubber meets the road, a cell changes its function and becomes something else other than what it already is.
Each and every component in a cell performs a specific function, change just 1 tiny feature and the entire cell does not work. It is like a little engine.
So, in effect, we are being asked to believe that the bicycle factory suddenly became a motorcycle factory? By what process did it "know" it wanted to become a motorcycle factory?
How did it know what a motorcycle was or that is should want to become one? I think your faith is stronger than mine!? ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Tony, DNA evidence does explain exactly where the rubber meets the road.. It is the blue print.. the gene sequences that produce all the proteins of living things.. And not all changes will result in a bad outcome. The bad changes get culled out of existence by natural selection.. The good changes go into the stock loft... And it doesn't happen suddenly.. It has taken over 3.75 billion years to get us to where we are. Paul Gomez (not the other Paul thry're talking about)

The power of words
"Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flows the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put devious lips far from you." (Proverbs 4:23-24)
I want to encourage you today to watch what you are saying. Your words have creative power and you use them as a destructive force or as an instrument of blessing. If you continually speak negative words over your life, then eventual defeat will be the result. In the same way, if you speak words of faith and victory, you will see a harvest of blessing not only in your own life, but also in the lives of those around you.
We challenge you to watch over the words you speak. When you find yourself in a difficult situation, don't say the first thing that pops into your head. Learn to control your emotions and take those thoughts captive. When you use words of faith and victory, God will fight your battles for you. You'll overcome every challenge that you face and you will live the abundant life that God has in store for you.
God, I believe I can change my world by changing my words. I will speak of my visions, my dreams, and my hopes. I will declare, this day, that I can do all things through Christ and that I am more than a conqueror! I can do all these things because You first believed in me. In Jesus' Name – Amen.

Great post guys, I am grateful we live in a nation that affords each of us the freedom to believe as we choose and the right to discuss that belief. I also believe that God has given us the freedom to choose or not. It is His will that all believe although some will not, He will not force faith. I hope that what I believe doesn't threaten anyone, while at the same time I am not threatened by what anyone else believes. I stand ready to give answer to anyone who asks, the reason for my hope in Jesus Christ. My God is big enough to have created all that is, in any way He chose to. I believe in miracles and am a living, walking, talking testimony of the power of a praying mother and grandmother. God answers prayer! ---------- "Semper Fi" SD

THE CUTTING EDGE NEWSBRIEF: Chicago Tribune, Friday, 10/25/96, "POPE BOLSTERS CHURCH SUPPORT FOR EVOLUTION", by Stevenson Swanson, Tribune Staff Writer, Dateline: New York.
"In a major statement of the Roman Catholic Church's position on the theory of evolution, Pope John Paul II has proclaimed that the theory is 'more than just a hypothesis' and that evolution is compatible with Christian faith. In a written message to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the pope said the theory of evolution has been buttressed by scientific studies and discoveries since Charles Darwin ... "It is indeed remarkable that this theory has progressively taken root in the minds of researchers following a series of discoveries made in different spheres of knowledge', the pope said in his message Wednesday. 'The convergence, neither sought nor provoked, of results of studies undertaken independently from each other constitutes, in itself, a significant argument in favor of this theory..."
"If taken literally, the Biblical view of the beginning of life and Darwin's scientific view would seem irreconcilable. In Genesis, the creation of the world, and Adam, the first human, took six days. Evolution's process of genetic mutation and natural selection-the survival and proliferation of the fittest new species-has taken billions of years, according to scientists ..."
"The Pope's message went much further in accepting the theory of evolution as a valid explanation of the development of life on Earth, with one major exception: the human soul. 'If the human body has its origin in living material which preexists it, the spiritual soul is immediately created by God', the Pope said."

Excuse me for not responding sooner but have been outside all day pruning trees and hauling firewood,2 of my favourite things. Pardon the pun fellas but,,Holy Rollers!!I'm glad I made this post as it has definately spurred some lively debate.Sorry to say,I'm in no position to carry the debate on about Darwinism or religion or whether which is correct or not.I'm just a simple guy with my own beleifs about the way the world is and I'm not trying to change anyone elses veiws about god or Jesus or evolution or anything. My only point is the following,,,,,,,When I'm happily reading through the posts here on RPDC and come upon something referring to how God can help and all this whatever it was Sidlove was on about it seems like we are being preached to and ya know what!?The Jehovahs don't even look twice at my front gate.I guess they get the vibe er something but really I don't need it personally.Kinda like politics and religion,,,rollers and religion really shouldn't be mixed,eh?Like, can't ya write"Off Topic--I'd like to preach"?Sure,I've said I might pray to the Roller Gawd before I let my birds out but in reality I think fireworks work better.Maybe I do have a little of the ol' Diablo in me but he's not hte nasty kind if you can catch my drift. I have read that even Darwin repudiated his own theories just before he died. Voltaire once said that God would be dead within 100 years. 100 years later they were distributing bibles from Voltaire's house. The carbon testing that claim that fossilized trees are millions of years old have proven to be inaccurate. Oil deposits they say take many eons to develope, they can develope in 20 minutes in a lab. One famous creationist offered $10,000 (amount???) to anyone who could prove evolution.....That money has never been claimed. There are some highly educated men on this list but, in His day, a humble carpenter had more wisdom than the wisest men of the time. God said it and I believe it and that settles it! Al

You know guys the debate could go on and on about religion but then it would lead to politics and how church and the state are tangled up which leads to why wars are started and so many of us will get pissed at what others are saying why the heck can't you guys keep to pigeons for cryin' out loud.If we want to read the psalms, the bible is there for all to read.WHAT are you doing bringing religion into a bird forum? is what I'm saying. It's not like religion is a hobby or anything. If your freedom of speech means feeding religion to others on a bird forum, how would you think if someone started preaching socialism or sex or rap music or free marijuana seeds on this site?Think about it.We're here (at least most of us) for Roller talk or pigeons. Not to be given a sermon. ---------- Kel. Kel, the commandments were given to show that no mortal man could be righteous enough to keep them. Not even Christians. We are all guilty of breaking them. Thankfully Jesus was and is the sacrificial lamb who died on the cross for the sins of the entire world once and for all. The gift of forgiveness and eternal life is promised to all who believe.
Kel, birds of a feather flock together whether we're birds of the roller flock or birds of the Christian flock. I'm happy to be part of both flocks and know that all of us would welcome you with open arms should you ever decide to join us in the other.

Kel, it really goes deeeper than that. Once the first made fell to earth and separated (from GOD) ,they fell into a world of decay, corruption, disease, sickness, killing, and death, a negative world that belonged to the prince of the air(satan), so being we became separated from GOD and adopted all of this .Thanks to ADAM and EVE.He loved us so much that through one Adam we fell,, HE gave us back a Adam (JESUS) to give us back what we should of had from the begining. He loves you very much ,that he gives(( YOU )),not forcing but the same choice he gave to Adam . You choose,,,, eternal Life in paradise with GOD,,,, or eternal life in pain with satan,,, it's your choice my friend. R-LUNA
