Mahalo Todd,
I have made my muffs from the fastest birds in my family.
First, the 119 birds that the original muff gene(s) came from .. a couple of the originals spun blood in their eyes..
from real velocity..
Then I later rebuilt the family adding 2 sons and a daughter of my 591 hen.. one of my best spinners and producers ever.. I saw her shrink in the roll at times..
I haven't flown lately...due to my schedule and BOP problem, but I have used the interlude to make a sizable nucleus.. and I will be able to put them up soon with out fear of losing my project. I do see some of them flip in the cage tho...lol...
Take Care my friend,
Paul

Rollerman,
No, I'm not really trolling.. I just want people to see something of what I've been doing. I heard that there were a lot of people who thought I had packed up the tents and rode my camels off into the sunset.

Holly mother of feathers? First time I've seen a family with that long of feathered foot. In a good way that is. The size of those birds look very small and compact. Can't say the same about the feathers on their feet ;)

Nice group of birds. Hope they do you well for you in the air.

Thanks for sharing... it was interesting,

I cant agree on this one with you guys , these Birds look like they are crossed. Paul says he did not cross them and I believe him but maybe someone crossed them before he got them.

Sometimes I think people are afraid to say what they really think and be politicly correct.

Just my opinion

Well I'm not afraid to say what I think. I meant what I said about liking these birds. Muffs might be too big on some but I personally like muffs. Although I only have on muff breeder that I breed out of two gross legs.

Mount Airy, Sal, Efren,
Thanks... The birds ARE small and very typey.. Strong too.
I have been working on the current strain for about the last ten years, starting with groused legged
birds that had some of the first muffed birds I was breeding in the late 70s and 80s. The original
birds were from a full brother/sister pair that Cornell Norwood had bred and that his brother Elliot was
using. These birds were according to Cornell about as close up to 119 as could be had at the time. I
wanted the 119 blood because Cornell told me that, in his opinion, 119 was where the best speed out of 514
was coming
When they produced the first big muff I expressed an interest in trying to breed muffs from them and
they loaned me the pair that started my first muffs. It turned out that those first muffs were too closely
bred to sustain a strong family. I finally crossed two of them to my hottest clean leg birds, and they rolled
SUPER... But they only had groused legs. I have bred my current muff family out of these groused legged birds.
It has taken me about ten years to breed up my current muff family from the groused ones.

George,
You are always trying to undermine the efforts of others.
You sound like one of Ken's cheerleaders...
only you lack the knowledge that Kenny clearly has.
If these muffs of mine had a cross before I got them then it must have been before Cornell Norwood
had the blood, and before Frank Lavin had it, and before Bill Pensom had it... because that is where the
blood came from.
Oh.. I almost forgot.. Why didn't you respond to the post I put under front crest ..Hector's post.. I
show a color bird I had in the California Classic and what was written abiout it.

You asked for a opinion and I gave it . as far as the bird that you entered in the Cal Classic .. you answered that one yourself , you said the bird would not kit well .. if you dont know why, then what can I say .

I dont sugar coat nothing Paul never been my style but that dont mean we cant be frends.

I always have said I dont have the knowledge of many who consider them selves experts , but I do fly my Birds and enter any Fly I can and thats a lot more then some experts can claim.

I always Fly .. I dont believe in excuses I dont have the time and the right schedule either but some how I still fly and support the Fly's .

Thats just me.

Paul did not do nothing to me ,I just stated my opinion and it seems like he got upset..

It has happened before with other people. Am I supposed to lie just so people dont get upset ?

Like I said its just my opinion nothing else. I have been called names by others here on this forum but I still did not stoop to anyones level and call them names .

And all that just because I didnt agree with thier opinion.

I dont always agree with Scott and Kenny and Hector but I still consider them friends. and I know that they have a lot of knowledge when It comes to Birds . They never get upset when I dont agree with them.

I will post some pics of some of my Birds and if someone says they they dont like them . NO BIG DEAL I would not get upset its just a opinion , nothing else.

Just my opinion

Efren,
I don't know why George tries to bring others down...
I have heard that those that do such things are suffering from a low self image so they belittle others
in an effort to feel better about them selves.
But maybe that's not it. Maybe he really thinks what he is saying is right. But when he says these things
about my birds I have to set him straight.
He really doesn't know anything about me.

Just because I disagree on something with you does not mean I am trying to put you down..

As a teacher I am surprised that you dont know the difference between a opinion and a blatant attack on you personally.

I just stated my opinion nothing else , I dont understand why you took it personal.

Several people believe the Family of Birds that I fly are over cooked but thats OK , they have a right to thier opinion NO BIG DEAL.

stop trying to read between the lines , its just a opinion from a Novice nothing Else .

If you really got hurt by my opinion then I will erase it and apologize to you just let me know.

Its not a Big deal there just Pigeons.

I don't think there is any thing wrong with the difference of opinion. Your birds might not float my boat, then that same thing could be said about mine by others. No biggie. Fly what ever makes you happy guys. Personally I like seeing different family of birds. Most might not do it for me on the ground but I can't say the same in the air.

Any one who post some thing in public... well you know how that goes.

their is a difference in giving opinion and attacking by implying that your giving opinion. we can say that we like or dislike a certain family or strain of birds or we can say we dont... Some individuals attack by giving an opinion that there crosses - they maybe or OR THEY MIGHT NOT BE. If were not sure (why not keep or attacking opinions to ourself).

Muffs have been in the breed a very long time and I have seen some good ones, of coarse when you make a "project" out of anything you won't go any where other than hit and miss, to many "excuse" birds get buried in for any project, and that means faults.
There are a couple of those that look like they could have the goods if all else is right,I like the looks of the one in the first pic to the far left, some of the others look like they will just be boneheads.

Steve...0016,
Thanks..!!

Lionel,
I saw it as an attack too... Desguised as an opinion.

Scott,
Since I made the muffs using some of my best spinners, I feel that they should be very good rollers. I have enough of them now so that I can begin to fly them without endangering the project as a whole. I've been working on my family for a long time without crossing, so I feel confident that the birds will hold up.

Thanks Redchecker,
I'd call him a dun checker. He was such a standout that he HAD to be picked... He chose himself. He was prefect on the ground too. I learned a lot from this bird.
