First...get the "Ronco" Routisserie....you know the commercials...set it and forget it...best purchase I ever made...was hungry one night saw the commercial and bought one....IT IS AWESOME...anyway

The Ronco comes with a Basket that slides to the Routisserie part....I put about 8 culls in the basket...just breasts....and I garlic salt them and wrap with bacon and some lemon pepper....then I set it and forget it...YUMMY>...that is about the only good thing about culls..

Back in college, when we would get completely broke, no money for food, just barely enough for 5 or 6 cases of beer, we would go camping and live on fox squirrels and rabbits!Take a few back to the apartments and make a big pot of dumplings with them! Eat all week!

In Hong Kong, they sell bbq monkey to the squids (Navy Boys)
and tell them its chicken! They seem to like it! ;-0 (I know but I'm a jarhead!) Try frying them in a deep fryer filled with peanut oil! Taste just like pigeon! ;-)

Just be sure to remember that the meat on top of a squirrel's head is poisonous!!! but the brain and tongue aren't! LOL

Mann are pigeons good to eat...but I think you should only go for the kings or utility size only ..rollers are way too small and if you kill 30 to 40 pigeons.. trust they can take one whole day to clean everything...but then they taste good...i wish i knew how to cook it too much sauce...

They are just like dove.Breast them and grill them.Don't get me wrong,I love my birds andI don't really want to work so hard to raise them and eat them.Maybe I should have a kit of birds just so bop can have a meal before I let the good birds out?lol.I love my birds, but if you get birds that don't produce its our responsibilty as breeders to cull them out.Or your not breeding perfomance rollers, your just breeding pets.If you don't want to eat your birds I understand.Give to a dog training club. They can use them for training hunting dogs.At least you know your birds are going for some good.

I used to dove hunt allot and i bet pigeon is the same. I would fatten up a bit, just because I could. I dip in egg and a flour, salt and pepper, and other spices you like and cook in a little oil. Just like fried chicken legs, It was good stuff.
My mom used to make a casserole. She would breast out the dove brown a little in a frying pan, then throw them into a cake pan. Mix in same tatter tots, and poor a can of cream of mushroom soup over the top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and Melt a little cheese on top and serve. Their never was any left overs.
