Scott, The stiffs I had were just that. The birds I dealt with either had no roll in them or were too stable and able to control the roll impulse completely. Which ever it was, they weren't what I wanted. Maybe it was me, but I think it was the birds, based on my relative degree of success with my current family. I think if you get too far off center on any one element with the Roller make-up, it will show itself in a way that can be a negative fault. I agree that we are looking for a strong roller that can handle the roll, NOT a stiff roller that needs to be starved down to get it to perform. I am not advocating weak roller or weak character rollers. That is where the difference if "families" seems to show up. Some families seem to be easier to get to roll, the birds want to roll. All the handler needs to do is get the birds in condition to perform at their optimum. (Easier said than done!) Point is, this particular trait seems to be a family thing. Some families are user friendly, other families need a bit more understanding and expertise. Cliff

Cliff, a bird should roll regardless, if not it isn't the handing it is just a stiff. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Butch, nothing here had anything to do with performance or mine is better than yours. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Through a blue-bar Sion/Stassart hen into the mix with your best spinner and give it a while. Glen.
